If the whole floor is punky you're talking a "frame off" restoration. Here it is frequently referred to as "the full monte".

Go to Search, click on Advanced Search, - select "titles only" in the top left box and enter "full monte" - you'll get a quite a few threads that document this process. Here's one
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f416...nte-26902.html

The answer is that YES you can replace the floor - read a few threads - it isn't fast OR cheap. If you decide it's beyond you, sell the one you've got, and buy one that's a bit more road ready. Do a lot of reading and thinking before you decide.

This one wouldn't sell for any.. Honestly. Were not looking for it to drive at all. Just something for us to hang out in. And say we did a project 30 years from now. But we'll see, thank you.

Pictures, please!

Please do post pictures!!! If you post a picture of the nameplates by the door and exterior photos I'm sure you could find out information about how old it is etc.

Depending on how bad it is, you could use an epoxy wood hardener that will restore some integrity to the existing wood. Put some laminate down over that and hang out... I got laminate for mine for something like 79 cents a square foot.

or screw down new wood over the old. The proper repair is a big job, but not impossible at all. Can you see the frame under the floor?

No i cannot see the frame. Partly because some of the frame on the bottom is ripped off. That's how bad it is..

I'd love to see some pics...

A friend of mine has an old stream in rough shape. He ripped out the floor and rebuilt it with scrap wood. Like old 2x4's and what not... It came out great... but he is very skilled that way...

Um, slow down. Take a moment to consider how the AS is constructed before you "fix it". The wood floor (that is rotted away) joins the frame to the shell. The lower edge of the shell has a channel that the floor fits into. Once the floor is screwed down to the frame the shell become secure. Just throwing down a new sheet of plywood (wall to wall) means that the shell is not connected to the floor or the frame. A Tumble Weed comes to mind.

I put mine on a free photobucket account. Its very easy to do...

Once thats done, just click on the little landscape button on this site and paste the direct link from photobucket. When you put your cursor over the pic in photobucket, it pops up the links...

looks like the kind of thing some folks around here dream about...

Do you own it or are you considering buying it?

I *think* it is a '57 or earlier based on the number of panels on the end. I also would guess that it is an Overlander (26'.) Do you have better name badge pictures?
