Just saw it today, same mo as the others with the guy asking you not to email him through ebay as it goes in the junk mail. At the bottom asking price 5800 USD.

How bout this one?

Ealier today it had couple of bids that were over the buy it now and tonight it has no bids.

That's because it's being "relisted" in 1-day auctions by the scamsters, so as fast as we report them, they go back up under somebody else's ID. If you look at the "other items for sale" on these frauds, you'll see the same 39 listings over & over.

Just for the record, my 1978 Argosy is on ebay, and NOT a scam! Though I am getting all sorts of strange emails asking me Airstream questions, as though I am an expert, when all I am is a tin can nut who has owned and fixed many trailers. Seriously though, all this scamming is really freaky! I was almost wondering whether some of these strange questions are from people trying to figure out whether my trailer was for "real" or not.

Okay, now I am really stressing out! The current bidder on my Argosy is a tlgariety who has written an Airstream Scam guide on ebay, so right next to their bid is this link that says"this seller is out of country scam artist, etc" type of comment. Does that mean this bidder is bidding because they think my auction is a scam and they are warning potential bidders? Or just that they are bidding? Maybe it is another forum user? I am a worry wart...

ok they are really at it today...there are about 6 rip off outside buy it now Airstreams recently added. I bid on three...let's drive this wacko crazy and bid on them all, so he has to cancel all the bids!! Bidding war!

Looks like a pot full, many entered under the id shadsclassics. All units selling for buy it now price of $6,000. You go and look at the guys history and he sells parts. Suddenly he is now selling Airstreams and boats. I reported the ID.

Well they pulled those and our scammer put them all up again using another scammed id. I just reported him again. Same M.O. Every thing he is selling is going for $6,000. All to contact him first, no bids, and he claims to be in Richmond Mo.

I just can't believe that experienced ebay folks are allowing their id's to get scammed like this.

They fall for the emails that we all get. You know the one. It is a 'respond to member' message. You get an email that appears to be someone that is asking you about either the item you sold or bought. Some innocuous question. You click on the 'Respond Now' link to tell the person that you don't know what they are talking about. You are taken to a page to enter your ebay id and password. However, it is not an ebay page. Bam! Your id and password are stolen. Now the scammers can use that to 'sell' an item through your account. I even got redirected one time by clicking on a description INSIDE ebay!

If you do a lot of ebaying, the ebay toolbar is good to get. It will catch these phishing attempts. Another toolbar for all phishing attempts is the Netcraft toolbar (www.netcraft.com).

I have bid on many and never got a second chance offer. I did get one email directly that asked me to arrange the buy off ebay. ..Its tempting to bid just to mess with their head.

I report the bogus listing as fraud. If everyone dose this everytime they look at ebay I think we can stay ahead of them. I reported 6 in a row last night and they are all are removed. One even threatened to give you negative feedback if you bid through eBay, and not going directly to him.

We recently purchased our Airstream on eBay, and are very pleased with it. However, we had bid on a few others before finally winning this one and were shocked by the scammers who sent us fake second chance offers on the Airstreams we didn't win. For what it's worth, we forwarded all those fakes to eBay.

You are doing good work here to keep the scammers scrambling. Keep it up!
