This afternoon in 102 degree temps my spare tire that was in its rear carrier blew out. I would never have guessed the temps inside the would get hot enough to cause a tire to blow. The first week of May I replaced both front tires and had the best of the old tires put up for a spare so it was not a dry rotted tire just got too hot!

Wow I know it's hot in Texas. But hot enough to blow a spare tire!!!
Can't believe it's this hot in early June. Me and Mrs S are planning a cooler escape for mid July right now!
South east Texas is hot also, this is what the truck read on June 1st! Yikes!!

It gets up to 115-118 degrees in the Arizona desert areas, and spare tires should not blowup even at these temperatures. If your spare exploded, it was probably defective.
I had both my feet stick to the blacktop highway at a stop light in Little Rock Arkansas in August of 1995.
