I see a similarity, don't you? Well I can pretend can't I? When I was a kid, I used to pretend that I was flying a B-17 on bombing runs (Twelve O'clock High), so why as an adult can't I pretend I'm flying the space shuttle?

No, the lower picture (your 280) does not look anything like the upper cockpit picture of some boring plane

I like that Peter!
If it were real though, can you just imagine the distraction for the driver!

Next trip in the planning...
My brother and sister-in-law just bought a beautiful home outside of Seattle (and I'm jealous)! It has an RV pad next to the garage that could park two Airstreams!
I'm guessing since I lost count on the number of times that he said I should head on up, that he really does want me to visit.
I think a motor home trip to Seattle is in the planning. Just need to do it before snow hits the Siskiyou's!
No hookups, but I did instruct him on how to install a 30amp RV outlet. I think he can handle it since he is a 30yr A & P mechanic at United (oh, and he tells me that I taught him everything he knows). Sweet!

My kind of brother to consider his house purchase with you in mind!
When we looked at purchasing a new house 5 years ago, one of my criteria was to have ample RV parking.
Not only do I have double RV parking in front of my shop with 30 amp service, I also just added a 3 point hookup on the other side of the house for the new trailer and Airstream guest, who may wander this far south.

Deeply, deeply disappointed Dean, to hear that there is no movie to follow.
I had thought that these beautiful pics were a teaser for the upcoming movie.
After what you did with a driving movie, this had all the makings for a blockbuster.
Ah, your audience will just have to wait for the next release " The Long Road to my Brother's Pad "
Yes my Yosemite pic was some time in the third week in Aug. after the activities of car week in Monterey wound down, I was heading toward Colo. And the route thru Yosemite made for a fun drive. I did manage to shoehorn into the last spot available in the park to overnight there. The need for reservations was a common theme through out the summer on the coast.
Thanks for your write up of your trip, good Fun!
Cheers Richard

Oh Dean, I can definitely see your cockpit morphing into the flight deck pictured, after the start with the I Pad . May have to upgrade the alternator a bit.

Richard, I did try that expensive alternator upgrade a few yrs back. It lasted a yr before it burned out. Sticking with stock oem parts now...they last!
Beside, for extra power, that's what the APU in the tail is for!

I think it is time to sell the condo, move out of "urbania" and buy a home in the country with a lot large enough to house the fleet I wish I had. It's wearing on me to have to drive 250 miles one way to visit my toy.

Now you're talking
I've lived in the "country" for the last 15 years and would never consider going back to living in "urbania". It probably has something to do with the fact that I don't like being around people

What are you waiting for? Half the fun of owning an Airstream is to see it sitting next to your house.

In my case the fun is seeing it sitting in my shop
