The manuals Nick pointed to are pretty much all that is available for the 74 Argosy. Airstream did create an owners manual for the 74 model year but it's not all that great. I could probably copy mine if you don't have one of the Owners manuals.
By all means post more pictures of your Argosy and tell us more about it.

I have a question. This has nothing to do with owners manuals...but I have a 77 argosy MH and am wondering if you could recommend what types of batteries it needs? i know it needs two. Thanks in advance!

How about starting a new thread and posting pictures of your 76. I've got a 74 20' and Martin has a 75 20' but I don't know of anyone that has a 76 20' so it would be nice to see what differences there might be.
By the way, welcome to Airforums!
Brad

Hi Brad, although I say my 20ft Argosy is a 1975 the chassis left the Chevrolet factory in Dec 75, & the body was finished by Airstream in May 76, so in your eyes is this a 75 or 76, hopefully Martin will get to see it sometime this year & may be able to tell me more.

Phil, I'd have to call your's a 76. Model years generally change the fall of each year so by the fall of 76 they would have been selling 77 models.
Mine rolled off the Airstream assembly line in July of 74 and the GM vin indicates it's a 74 model year.

Also we are in need of the roof air conditioner top and have looked for one for 2 years eith no success. I'm thinking we may have to have someone customize one for us. We never use the AV as we don't need it hete in Alaska but without it eater seeps in. If anyone has a resource I may have not checked out, please let me know.

2 headlights or 4? 2 = 74 to 76 and 4 = 77 and later.

Can you post pictures of your air conditioner cover? I've seen covers advertised before from various suppliers but have not looked lately.

I have to admit to a little bit of self interest...it will still take the same amount of bandwidth to download as to receive it via an email, but because I have already put it in the cloud, I don't use bandwidth to send.

Hi, I don’t know if you’re still active since this post is older but the comment of an additional 1970s wiring diagram sounds quite helpful. I have a 1979 Airstream and the wiring diagrams are good but then just stop and reference “load circuit 1,2,3 etc. “.
I’d love to get more info!

Matt sold his Argosy, bought another Argosy, has now sold that and bought a DP, but is still around.
It was probably this wiring diagram he was describing as it is part of the Chevy Light Truck service manual series (link is to a copy on my Goggle Drive)

I'm still here! And yes Martin in correct. I have that manual as well. I'll dig through my remaining paper manuals and see if there's something that can help you but most of my stuff went with my 78 when I sold it. My buddy bought my 76 so he may still have some of it.

I have just begun to get my father's 1976 Argosy 26' motor home back into roadworthy condition, but I can find no paperwork in the motorhome or his paperwork piles. If you still have the electronic version of any of the manuals for the chassis or motor home, I would love to have them. My email is loricar1@gmail.com.
If you can think of anything I can offer in exchange, I would do my best!
Thank you,
Lori
