Back up camera problem

We have tried everything but can't get the back camera on my 2018 16 ft Sport. Had the dealer instal a 7 pin connection to our hitch and when we turn on the car lights, the back up camera displays "failure to link". The dealer demo'd it and it worked, but we could not get it to link when we got home. Not sure if we have a circuit short (lights don't seem to consistently go on) - has anyone else had this issue? We are very excited to take our first trip, but feel really anxious without the camera functioning. Thanks in advance!

Make sure the 7 pin harness is aligned and firmly inserted in place. Your AS running lights need to be on. (TV lights in parking or fully on position.) Hit the monitor power button. You should now get a signal and hit the sync/pair button on the monitor. There are 2-3 views available, push and hold the monitor power button for 5 seconds, release, repeat until you get the view you want.

Hi

Spray out the 7 pin with WD-40 to clean it. Then plug it in *hard*. You can't push to hard to break it. Also watch for the clip on the "door" on the TV. It needs to be clear of the connector (yes you can break that door).

Once the 7 pin is in all the way, check the lights on the trailer to be sure all the signaling works. This should be part of your checklist. Now turn on the parking lights on the TV. The side lights on the trailer should come on. The rear lights should also come on. That will power up the backup camera.

Once that's all done, the video should link up.
