Any spots still open?

It is possible that we will be in Michigan during the time of this rally. We are on a cross country trip from Los Angeles......would love to make this rally if we can work it out. Paula & Ed in SteSpot...

courtesy parking August 20th

Once we leave the rally we are going to spend the week trailering around Michigan and will be working our way home on Saturday August 20th.
I was hoping to find a place to stay (courtesy parking) for the evening of Saturday August 20th in Southern Michigan or Northern Indiana on our way home.
I was going to stop at a Ouabache (pronounced "wabash") State Park in Bluffington, Indiana for the night but they have a 2 night minimum.
Northwest Ohio would also be ok but I was trying to go home through Indiana on secondary roads to avoid I-75.

Any ideas?

If you can make it over to elkhart, IN then you could stay at the RV museum. No / limited hookups, but free, I think.

Cabela's has free RV sites in the back. Cabela's is 17 miles north of the Ohio border on US-23 and Hwy 50 in Dundee MI (about 10-12 miles east of Indian Creek CG). 23 is the western most freeway that runs North/South in Southeast Michigan. I hope I said that right, but it will give you easy access to many secondary roads to take you to IN.

The Indiana state parks have a 2 night minimum for reservations. But if they have open sites you can drive in for any length of stay.
The Rv hall of fame will let you stay in the parking lot for free. (just off the 80/90 toll road) in Elkhart In. We also see alot of people using the Walmart lot for a one nite stay. I wish we were going to be around we could find you some room but we will be at the dunes for that weekend.
What about Jackson Center? (may be close to on your way home)
Good luck and enjoy your trip.

All the talk of strawberries.... I had to pull strings and break legs but we are confirmed on site 5. I know that it is up the hill and will be hard to find my way home from the privillion.
The nice lady at Indian Creek said there only four sites left 6,7,8,9 (I think)

Its almost time Metro Detroiters. We are making the needed preperations here, cleaninf the trailer, making a to do list, etc.

For the newbies that are coming, do not forget a raffle gift, this can be nearly anything to put into the saturday night raffle. Raffle gifts can be cmaping related or not, new, used, parts, etc. If it is laying around in the garage bring it.

Well, we are now in limbo about attending. Radiator is malfunctioning on the Exploder so we may be out unless we can get repairs done in 3 days. I'm not holding my breath though. Fingers crossed!

Is there any food itinerary for the weekend?
Christy has been asking if she needs to fix some food for Friday or Saturday night?
