GA-TAC, F.D. Roosevelt State Park

For GA Air Tacsters this event will hit the spot in terms of affordability. Diesel is getting as high as a kite and this trip will not break the bank. You should be able to get there, run around, and get back and still have some of the precious fluid left in the tank!

Well not too many 40 foot sites left and those are the best ones. Well the good news is if you move fast you can score a site as of this date. Good to see you are coming! Thanks for the update.

F.D. Roosevelt Rally, May 27-30, 2011

Here's a suggested schedule but everyone can do their own thing of course.
FRIDAY: DRIVE AND SETUP
Wander and visit. Evening Social (5:30-6:30) and Campfire (at dusk) at the Byars's Place. BYOB and Finger Food to share for social. Campfire announcements.

SATURDAY: Visit FDR Little Whitehouse, followed by lunch at The Bulloch House in Warm Springs, followed by Swim the Warm Springs, Dip Into The Past, followed by exploring the shops in Warm Springs Village. Evening bike ride all around the park for those wanting to explore by bike. Evening Social (5:30-6:30) and Campfire (someone can volunteer or back at the Byars place) BYOB and Finger Foods to share.

SUNDAY: Explore Callaway Gardens by bicycle with lunch at the Gardens Restaurant. Return to camp, swim at Liberty Pool or something else like a day hike or hang out. Evening Social and Campfire same as above. Someone can volunteer for social/camp fire.

MONDAY: Rest, goof off, pack, return to base

Like I said this is just a suggestion. The important thing is to have fun and enjoy your stay. One of my favorite activities is doing nothing, just hanging out.

Sounds fun. Dave from FL and any other FL attendees, is it worth discussing our travel plans in case we could meet up and roll in together? WE are coming from New Smyrna Beach.

Nice thought BUT our starting time will be about the 21 arriving by the 26. Leaving park 31 and haven't decide on direction of travel yet so it would be hard to caravan it. Dave

BTW, but just because I'm curious, how many RSVP's do we have for this event....just seeing how everything is going after the TAC Ohio Rally and then leading up to the Bash?

The Rose Tea room in downtown Pine Mountain has new owners and a new menu. The food is great! They also sell a variety of different breads, nice crusty ones. They're tomato bisque is delicious too. Great desserts, very cute place. They have a Sunday brunch You have to check out the Ladies Room ( I made my husband take a peek). We have a cabin down here and if we're down that weekend we'll stop in and say hi!

TAC: GA - F.D. Roosevelt State Park

Look like we have around 11 units reserved for this event which is super. I surely plan on being there even through at this moment I am on the "airstreamer disabled list" (ADL) due to a pinched nerve in my left leg which is causing a lot of problems. I plan on getting the condition alleviated this next week and getting back onto the active airstreamer rotation yet again. Man, I am really looking forward to getting out of the house and on the road. See everyone there.

This sounds quite yummy. Some good coffee, a soup and sandwich and a sweet dessert would go down well.

This is our first rally. I was hoping for a little clarification about the evening social. By "Finger food to share for social" do you mean just appetizers/hors d'oeuvrers for a pre-dinner snack or is this a community pot-luck dinner?

Shawn, will you guys be there? I was thinking we would have to wait until Nov. 2012 to meet you guys.

Alas, we won't be able to attend....we'll actually be down in Texas that week moving residency there, and then heading out on a 3 to 4 month tour of the Pacific Northwest.

My thought was just a pre dinner snack get together, informal, with a campfire setting after dinner. Keep it simple. There will likely be some heading into Pine Mt, Callaway, or other points nearby for a dinner as well on one evening. No formal potlucks or prize drawings or tour of trailers is planned. Show up, socialize, network, and have a good time. I will tie in with everyone after I arrive and get setup. Keep in mind that I am still a little chancy with my back injury but I am making progress and still plan on attending. I would hate to miss a good outing with the airstream. Us TACsters are a little short on rules and formality as you will see. Let's just go camping and enjoy the adventure!

Exthemius, sorry to hear you can't make it but your planned journey looks enticing. We used to live in Oregon, Washington State and Idaho and we look forward to revisiting the west at some point like as soon as my wife retires. Be safe, travel far.
