This is a feeler "ad" to gage interest for a TAC Rally in Minnesota the upcoming summer of 2011. The location suggestion is the Minnesota Airstream Park in Clear Lake, MN. The Rally Site (The Pines) has room for I believe at least 30 units (I will confirm this). Water and power is located at the Rally Site, and there is a dump station on premise. Golf, Heated Pool, Club House, Horse Shoes, Tennis, Camp Fires are some of the notable amenities. Leashed pets are welcome. It is presumed that this rally would also include interest and participation from the MN Airstream Park residents as well. There are 125 private owned shares (lots) in addition to the Rally site. The Park has lowered it's rental fees for 2011, with the Rally Site only fee of $15 per night, which includes all Park amenities.

No date yet, other than summer of 2011, and a presumed weekend event (Friday through Sunday, 2 nights). So how about it Airstreamer's? Please reply and take the poll!

The Minn. AS park has been a target for us since learning about it. It would be a 2 day trip to get there (and 2 days back) so that + rally days means almost a week's vacation. We'll keep it in mind although some unexpected expenditures are already making us replan our 2011 camping season. TAC rallies are always cost-effective outside of the gas to get there. Our oldest will start all-day school in late Aug., so that kinda ends our long distance camping outside the summer break for a while. So my vote for rally dates would be before the last week of Aug. Minn. is nice in the summer though...only gets up to like 65 during the day, right?

Sound interesting. Timing is critical. I have only a couple of days unscheduled before I have to head back west to home.

I believe there are already two WBCCI Rallies at the Park the last two weekends of August, so those dates would be out. June, July and early August would be on the table. I really hope that if we do have the rally, and we settle on the date, you could attend! With the earth now warming, we actually get to 66 degrees now!

All kidding aside, we are talking about the warmest Minnesota months, so averages in the 70's and 80's. Also, the pool is heated, bowing to cooler evenings/mornings.

Keep in mind the TAC Birthday Bash in late June / early July. I know that for some folks considering an MN rally that attending the BB might be out of the question and not an issue for dates. But...there will likely be a large number of TAC'ers from the north-central and eastern states that have June 30-July 4 blocked out.

On a personal note, my company mandates that everyone take the week of the 4th of July off of work, so I'm on vac. after the BB. Perhaps a trip to MN is in order after the BB???

I only wish I did not live so far away. I am glad to see people making TAC what it was created for. i wish you luck and I am confident that you will have plenty to attend. It only takes 2 rigs to make it a bash.

Yes! Hope you will decide on coming to the Minnesota Airstream Park for a TAC Rally! Maybe the end of July? The AS Park is beautiful and set out in a unique circle fashion so is very park like. We & several other shareholders are TAC members & we would look forward to showing other TAC members a good time.

Sounds really good. Too far? Isn't that why we have an Airstream? I will be following this thread as I would hope to be there. It will be during my busy time at our farm market, but as I said, isn't that why I have an Airstream.

Hey there TAC in Minnesota. We are just south of you in Iowa. We are definitely interested in a TAC rally---if it fits in our schedule. We have been to the park on several occasions and enjoyed it very much. Our past stays were at rentable sites in one of the circles, but the area you speak of is very nice also. St. Cloud is nearby with some great sites to see. We will be following this thread to see how this rally progresses.

This is an awesome early response! Rigs as far as Ohio, Oregon, Michigan and Montana! Taking this to the next step, it appears that sometime in July might work best. I believe there are three weekends in play (avoiding 4th of July, and the last weekend in July due to a Region 7 WBCCI Rally at the Oshkosh Air Show). Without a complete consultation of calendars, I see July 8-10 (too close to the 4th?), July 15-17 (could be ideal?), or July 22-24 (could also work?). Let's keep this discussion going!

It all depends on the date and whether or not my band is playing (maybe in the area?). I have tried to get up there twice already and not been able to get there. Fingers crossed for this coming summer.

On a very loose level... I'd vote for July 8-10 for the aforementioned mandatory vacation from work. I don't currently have plans for the other weekends suggested, but those would require additional days off of work which are a premium given the "mandatory" vacation that I have throughout the year.
