Q 3,t 2

Well ONLY 2 more months till Q-3,T-2 and I see we have a good start. We have 12 folks signed up with a yes RSVP and 2 maybe RSVP's.
All you Airstreamers out there are welcome to come join the 4CU for a great Thanksgiving dinner boondocking at the Q-3.T-2 rally in the FREE 14 day stay area of BLM land in Quartzsite Arizona.
Remember you can stay the 7 months of Winter in Q on the BLM LTVA for $180.WHAT a deal.
I can not wait to go to the BIG Q to hold our rally site.I am just waiting for the day time temp's to come down, it is still 100+ in the day time in Q.

Sounds like more big fun with the usual 4CU cast of characters.
(Hey Debs and Julianne...it will be great to see you two again!)
I will be having turkey day on Thursday with my other family
but will try to head out early on Friday to join all y'all.
(I love that expression and I'm not even southern...)

Asst. flamingoes and a full martini bar will be on board.
I (((heart))) the Q.

P.S. Michael you're still on my...ahem..."list" for bailing on us at the Burn.
But ask me again after a martini and I might forgive you.

Bam,

Why not sneak out Thurs. down to our place. Then we can head out Fri. morn. Might be a bit less taxing of a drive for you that way.

I will likely be in the LA area Thursday for turkey time (Sherman Oaks?) so we could pick a spot and meet Friday early for caravanning to the Q.

Artical

Here is a artical about Quartzsite that has some good info of the up coming things this winter and the flooding early this month.
Can you believe that folks are already coming to Q when the temp is still 100+.

Hey gang! Just RSVP'd to make it lucky #13! Since this will be our first rally, where do you guys meet. I hit the Q-Rving website and it says that there can be as many as 100,000 RV's in Q-town! Is this really the case for you guys during thanksgiving week? I assume that the spot is a boon docking spot. Are there dump stations in Q-town? Any newbie advice for our first rally would be great!

Welcome aboard, NicheVintage...glad to see another Phoenician join in the fun... This will be our first Q rally too, but looking forward to seeing all the 4CU gang again... It's going to be a blast.

We're sure Mike (ScrapIrony-2) and Jim (Jimmini) will be posting particulars soon to help us first-timers find the gathering site, where to dump, get gas, and all that good stuff...right Mike?

See you there!

Q-3,t-2

We will be having Q-3,T-2 rally at the same area as last year the FREE BLM boondocking land South of Quartzsite called Road Runner CG.
1)You go about 5 miles south of Quartzsite on US 95 to just past mile marker 99.
(2) Then turn right onto 53rd ST North, just after you turn bare right onto dirt road, sign has Road Runner camp ground. Then follow the 4CU signs.
Note :This is a FREE rally, Free camping, NO rally fee, NO kitty fee.All we ask is that you bring some FIRE WOOD,and a table.Would like to hear from some volunteers for the side dishes and the WINE.Looks right now like we will be feeding about 30 folks. But hope this goes up as more folks sign-up.
Mike,Richard how many turkey's do we need? Jimmini will bring one. Will we still be deep frying them again this year?
From my other post link it sounds like the Old Yuma road and some others got flood damage in the LTVA.

We'll meet in Pasadena. I'll nail down an easy access/RV friendly spot.

Turkey Day In Q Town

Does anyone have GPS numbers for the camping site? I'm trying to talk the war department into Thanksgiving dinner in the desert.

Jim - Jan and I will bring the fryer, oil and one turkey. Make sure the bird is 15 pounds or less. The big ones do not fit well in the fryer and do not taste as good either. Last year we had 2 birds and had some left over. I think the Q-Town regulars had turkey for another week after we left.

We will also bring the M-Ball and the first fill.

I'll throw in turkey fryer in case we need to do another turkey. With the one Richard has and the smoked turkey Howard is bringing that should be enough.

Getting closer to leaving home. We will leave SW Colorado on 10-6 and meet some of the Ballon fiest folks at Show Low for a few days and then on to Q.

See y'all when we get there.
