4 Corners Unit Thanksgiving Rally 2013
Lost Dutchman State Park ~ Apache Junction, AZ
November 27 ~ December 1
Sites 76-104
$15.00 a night per trailer payable upon arrival at Ranger Station
It's been a while since we have gathered to give thanks for being Airstreamers. Time to get our turkey on!
I have reserved a loop at Lost Dutchman State park. There are 30 non electric spots with tables and fire pits at each site. Ranger Tom has agreed to build us a group fire ring for those evenings under the stars. Restrooms and showers available in another loop. Since there is not a ramada at this location it would be nice if you have a table to bring it, we will be dining alfresco. We will have our usual happy hours and pot lucks as well as Thanksgiving dinner.
Hope to see you there!

Babs & I would be up for it. Would have to come in on Friday though as we're doing the T-Day dinner thing for the family.

I booked for Friday and Sat night. Will come out for Thurs night if I can feed the parents early enough. I look forward to meeting everyone, but I booked site LDM 46 for the dog and AC issues to be on the safe side.
By then I will have been to South Carolina and back with the AS and the dog and will have a better idea of how he gets along with traveling and other dogs. Weather and dog permitting I would be happy to switch to the group site. I am sure I would enjoy it more. Regards, Ken

We would love to join you and meet some fellow Airstreams(ers). We would need to come out late Friday or early Saturday as we host family Turkey day on Friday. It would be our 1st (maiden voyage) outing as we still need lots of work and we are barely aluminum tent worthy. We live close enough we could even sleep at home but our old tires can make it that far on surface streets. EXCITING we have a goal other than a repair.

For those who have Turkey plans and want to come out for Friday and Saturday, we will be there happily awaiting new arrivals. There are hiking trails if you want to burn off some bird. Or just come, hang out and relax!

We belong to the WBCCI and are members of the DENCO unit. What would it take for us to attend?

Very very unlikely you will ever need AC at Thanksgiving time. Issue is I weigh 370lbs and travel with the Saint. We like it cold and if I have to leave him in the AS during a sunny day I want him to be ok.

Should not need AC over thanksgiving. Average temps in Nov should be mid 70's and mid to high 40's. Dutchman is considered an outlying area and should have even nicer temp's than the city's. We still do shorts in the day w/light jackets at night and have had thanksgiving outside under umbrella's.

By the end of this week we will be trailerless until the end of January or early February when our 2014 Classic 30 is built and delivered to Arizona. Hope we can do this Thanksgiving event next year.
We really enjoyed the Ballon Festival and hope to attend again next year.

Viddles and such
I am so happy to see we are going to have a great turn out for this Thanksgiving Rally!
For those arriving Wednesday we will keep it simple, a happy hour including some nosh.
Thanksgiving we will be having fried turkey and I believe some smoked turkey also so only side dishes will be needed. If you'd like to post what side dish you are bringing that would be lovely.
Friday or Saturday we will be repurposing the fry oil for Tempura or whatever you'd like to throw in. Always delicious!
