It was great how the rain only fell late at night and the Saturday weather was super. Thanks to everyone for bringing such great dishes to share, the raffle giveaways, and the fellowship made for a great weekend.
I was a bit discouraged going in this week, with a lot going on and not sure how this would turn out, but once again Shannon and I had a really fine time, and enjoyed seeing old and new friends.
Hope to schedule Falluminum for Oct either the 16 weekend or the 23rd depending on what the park has going on then. Will post it soon so we can grab spots.
Also I might see if I can hold a most of the waterfront spots and let folks take them from our group as they book.

What a great first time rally for the Silver Princess
First of all thanks to Kevin and Don for rescuing us after the water pressure blew one of our fittings. They came and looked at the problem, went into town, bought the fitting and fixed it. Richard and I have learned all about water pressure this week end. For some reasons the pressure is so high here at least two other folks had problems. Our next purchase, water pressure regulator! There are not words to express how overwhelmed we were meeting this great group of folks. We can't wait to make our reservations for the fall. We have enjoyed all the beautiful scenery and have decided we will always travel with feed corn for all the critters. The meals were just outstanding, thanks for the Texas grits recipe, yummy! What I found interesting, it wasn't the usual buffet fair but some really delicious and creative recipes. The Dutch oven blueberry cobbler was superb! The raffle was fun and we won a great digital tv antenna. Alan, thank you so much. You are a very gracious host and the band was just our style! The open house was a real treat. We got some great ideas and just enjoyed the enthusiasm and spirit of all the airstreamers. We are lucky that we get to stay and extra day and enjoy this wonderful park. I have to admit having wi-fi is a real kick and Richard got to catch the tail end of the race last night. We really have the camping fever now and can't wait to plan our next adventure.

home again home again jiggity jig!
It was great to see everyone again, and as always we had a great time, with great folks, at a great venue. For those that saw Tammy and My pale and dazed look at the dinner and knew about our daughters getting clothes lined off her bike by the volleyball net by the pavillion, she's doing fine. I have to compliment the park staff for there quick response to our need for a hospital, and the ER was jsut a great and attentive. Hats off to Hiawassee!!! Our daughter is doing fine with no apparent signs of permanent damage from the concussion other than loss of some memory from Saturday. (she was really dissappointed to learn I made homemade doughnuts Saturday morning, and can't recall eating them.) We are VERY lucky, BLESSED, and GREATFUL!!! God is GOOD! So after our excitement, and waking her every 2 hours through the night, we are happy to be home. Hope everyone has had a safe return!

I'm so sorry about your little girl-somehow we missed all that. Walnut Cove, NC is about 20 miles north of Winston Salem. We are near Hwy 52 on the way to Pilot Mountain.

Sorry we didn't know about your daughter either, glad that she is doing ok, Was good to see your group again, sorry I didn't get time to walk over and visit. Seems like the time there blew by much to quickly this trip.
Debbie says the Vakashunette Camper is a weekender and we will be in the Airstream come come this fall.
Thanks again to Alan and Shannon for getting this together for us to enjoy. It was good to see everyone and make some new friends. We look forward to the next one.

I'm going to put the best of the goose pictures on my blog at Humzoo.com/reera. They were so cute. Richard said we were going to start traveling with feed corn. The open house was really exciting and I am not going to attempt to identify people or

One of Best
Alan, you and Shannon have done it again. Thanks for another great rally.
I got to see some awesome trailers, talk to some great people, hold in my hand some pieces from a '55 Flying Cloud (lets hear it for the whale tail brethern!), meet some of our new WDCU members, party with friends, feed the geese, and I even learned some great tips on DO cooking. See, rallies can be educational too!
CJ and John, I'm glad you came to rally with us. By next time I hope you've found the Airstream of your dreams.
Thanks to Jim for helping me get situated, and to Becky and Tom for making arrival in the pouring rain a pleasant event! It was great to meet everyone. Hope to see y'all at the Falluminum.
There are photos on my blog (see my signature for link) or at Picasa Web Albums. Feel free to download any or all you want.

Linda and I had a lot of fun the past few days. We got home safely late this afternoon after a 9 hour drive (with about 2 hours of rain off and on). Thanks Alan and Shannon for taking the initiative to organize these fun rallies. This past weekend was another great one. Here are a few pictures that I hope won't duplicate what others have posted. The first picture here is one of Phil and Sue's dogs keeping watch over their trailer. The second (clockwise) is a picture of the frequently seen Canadian flamingos (I mean geese) and babies. The last is nilesrob's (Brad) (Mr. Slowsky) and Mrs. Slowsky's (Karen) new firepit (aka the Cauldron of Death). What can I say - the guy likes fire (and he plays a mean set of conga drums).

All I can say is WOW!!!
What an absolutely cool day! It was so good to meet everyone and the hospitality and fellowship was wonderful! Now I have got to get mine on the road so I too can be a part of the tour in the fall. All of you have truly inspired me to get off my duff and get it done. Just to let you know my son wants to have our "theme" as limedrops thanks to the lemondrop! Thanks to everyone for making us feel so at home and part of the crew and like I told him already THANK YOU ALAN for starting this thread and we will be looking for the beginning of the Fallalluminum thread soon!

Here are a few more. Clockwise, Alan/Shannon's efforts over the past year are showing, Sugarfoot's vintage trailer, PCC's "Lemon Drop", and Camp Luckyduck.
