Now There are Three

Babylboos and Otters have arrived. It's starting to look like a rally. Snow never showed up. Played golf today in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. Wind started about 1:30 this afternoon, but sun is still shining bright. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Note from 29 Palms

Leslie from 29 Palms asks that you check into the office and let her escort you to your site.

Ix-nay on the orts-shay.

Goingcampin, can you tell us exactly which sites are open? We are in #81, but Laurel thinks her space is too far from Airstream Central, and it probably is. Right now she is in #90.

Thanks!!

only from what i've read here on this thread, i believe we have a block of spaces. 1/2 facing the other half, at least that's what i thought i read, or wally told me so. from looking at the list, 172 looks open, it's a back in space. laurel take that one. i'm back your AS in as part of my greeter duties. i'll even do a good job. hey, i could use my truck, it's got a hemi, perfect for backing up FAST. REAL FAST. i'll have you in there so fast your head will spin. then you can commence to over decorate, like me...

i think next time, we should just do first come, first served. that way we can all argue over the best spots AFTER the fact. to late now, because i got the second best spot... kevbo

90's a good space. She'll be in Airstream land in 24 hours.

Kevbo, If I ever do this again it will be parking free for all.

Flying Into Twentynine Palms

with all this snow and ice, i wasn't sure i would be able to attend, so i've made arrangements with Naval Air Station Oxnard to have a Hercules C130 fly my TV and AS to the USMC Twentynine Palms base this morning. so i'm being forward deployed. i'm going to limit my stops to just two, the looting of just one indian burial mound, and then the ALWAYS mandatory wild willie's saloon for ta-kill-ya w/ the wife and kids. so look for me about 1:45, just a little earlier that planned. kevbo

Hitting it

Just ready to start the diesel up, piss off the neighbors and roll on out...looking up in the sky for a Hercules and Kevbo all the way. It's that time we all look forward while we are ending the previous adventure...Yippee.

Oh yeah...gonna try a new parking technique that doorgunner was braggin about....fly through an adjacent pull thru, hit the wheel hard right, slam on the trailer brakes, slide the TV around like a yo-yo, jump out of the rear sliding window of the TV, pull the hitch pin, and hope that the AS hits it mark smack dab in the middle of space #168, I hope its #168. If I got the wrong space..oops.

gee's what a great idea, the Hercules touch n go. however i didn't order the Airstream optional rear deployment chutes. i'll see what my brother can rig up, probably something on skids. or at the very least, i'll try and have the capt. do a "fly by". think wing wiggle and perhaps drop some flares if it isn't to windy. see y'all there. kevbo

Hello everyone,
Kip and I just wanted thank you all for putting up with our "Strange Airstream", you made our baby feel right at home. Though it was very cold, it was sure fun sitting around a warm fire.

We met such a great group of people and can't wait to rally again!!!!
For all of you that fell in love with the little Airstream bird feeder with the night light, you can find them at Unique gifts, home and garden decor, and housewares! Items as low as $9.99 - Nothin' over $20 at Collections Etc.. I just went on the website today and they have them in stock.
The item number is 51115 and the discription is "Summer trailer retreat"

It was so nice to meet so many new friends.
Thank you all again, Kip and Monica.

We are home also, have to work tomorrow. Thanks to everyone, especially Milo (goin camping) and Paula (codybear) for putting up with everyone. However, next time please order warmer weather.

It was nice to put faces with the names.

Bill

Jan and I just got back to Phoenix. We had a great time! Thanks for letting a non CA join in. Like everyone said, the weather could have been warmer, but the people were very warm!

For those of us who couldn't make the rally, it's been much fun following your adventures--especially since we've been just as unexpectedly frozen! We knew the warmth of the folks would carry you through.
Love the photos and look forward to more.

Smile

Hi All~

Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome at the rally and for all the great information. We feel like real Airstreamers already! (Even though we have 2 more weeks to wait.) What a great community this is, both in person and on the forums. Thanks Again,

Finncrew,
Jim & Leslie
