Stone Mountain & Six Flags
LeeMo,
Earlier in the year my wife and I along with 2 of the 4 kids spent 4 days at Stone Mtn. State Park camping area. There are a number of things to do in the park so we spent one day getting settled, one day in the park looking around and riding rides One day was spent at Six Flags Over GA. and then the fourth day was spent resting before breaking down and heading home.

Dennis's handiwork
Like I mentioned earlier, I was thrilled with the placard & stickers Dennis brought over while we were making camp. Here's what they looked like:

What a great trip
We made it back home yesterday. It was so great to meet with all of you in person. It felt like we had all done it many times before. I will follow the forum, and we will try to participate in another rally when we can.
Special thanks to Mrs. Purdy for leaving the Brunswick stew. I grilled ribs Mon. night and boy was it the perfect combo.
Thanks again to Dennis for the signs. I felt right at home.
Sue, what can I say. You are a gem. Keep shining. And Kathy, well you know. What a blast!!! Alan, thanks to you for making it all possible. I guess I could go on and on, but I fear that I may have butchered some names by now, but all of you were great to meet.
I now feel ever more special to be an Airstreamer.
When I get a chance to work with my pictures, I will post some. Plus, I have some I want to send to certain people as well.
Signed,
Andy, Lee, and the mean, but pretty, Tosca dog

Be sure to go over to the new thread on April rally and vote for the park of choice. I expect FDR will be the place, but will go with majority rule.
Of course we will have a recount or two, some lost ballots, some hanging chads, and throw the whole idea out before its over

What A Time
Oh no, not again, gotta go thru Atlanta again in the Spring? Up until I got my Airstream this past December I had NEVER been to Atlanta in my life except for one time I had to change planes there. Now, I have been forced to go through it, around it, over it, under it and just about any other way you can do it. Came around it yesterday coming back from Bobby Brown SP, driving that durn 12 lane highway is a load of laughs, if you are crazy.
Now where did you say the next rally is? Oh no!
Anyway, I put my vote in the pot on saying this rally was a blast. More fun arguing with the park rangers on if you should have a red or green tag. Kathy and I had a conversation with the young ranger in the office that can not be repeated on this forum but it kept me laughing for days.
Beautiful park, great people, unbelievable food and just plain old fashioned fun. Slept in Kathy's trailer Friday night, now that is another story.
Thank you Dennis for the beautiful signs, I am going to hang mine in Mariposa for the good memories it has for me.
Craig/davidz71..what can I say, it was a week end to remember forever. I am so sorry you had such back luck headed home. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!
Thanks to Ron/PizzaChop I did not go into a funk when everyone left the park, he came by, took pity on me and let me accompany him and his wonderful guys and gal to the Canyon to view the sights. Then he and Brenda let me spend the night in their front yard. Along with the 3 cats and two horses....................lol. Hey, you have never lived until you watched Peanuts with perpetual motion going on all around you.
Thank you Ron and Brenda for your hospitality and exquisite Pizza.
I have a lot more to say but this has been long winded enough so need to end, BUT, what are you going to do after this rally as an encore you guys?!

The red green sign issues was almost funny. I found out after I set up quite completely, awning, hoses, lines and all...that my tag was the wrong color for the site I picked. I ran around looking for an alternate site (there wasn't one) and after I got back to my spot noticed the ranger had come by and changed the color of my tag to the correct one for the site I was one.
It sure was fun, and the weather and scenery added to it.

Red/Green
Well Alan, guess I did not smile the correct way because I sure got the runaround.
We noticed the RV next to Craig moved out Friday evening, good I can have that spot, since I had to leave Mariposa at the KOA over Friday night. Kathy was sharing her Airstream with me that night.
Kathy and I headed to the Park office to ask for that spot next to Craig, nope you have to have their permission since they had paid for a night they were not using. Soooooo, Kathy and I chased them down at, of all places, the dump station. They said sure they would stop by the office and give permission for me to have the spot.
So, went back and paid for Friday night, then I was all fat and happy until they gave me TWO cards, one green and one red. Well they said, in the morning, I would have to move out of that spot since I orginally had the other color and could not stay in the spot next to Craig since it was the OTHER COLOR. Whichever one that was. I stood there getting ready to have a caniption fit, when I remembered I was part of a very fine, upstanding group of Airstream owners and could not act like a spoiled child. Plus Kathy was there adding her 2cents and I was laughing so hard I could not think.
So very politely I asked for a credit for Friday night, removed myself and went back to Kathy's for the night.
Then in the morning I went and fetched Mariposa from the KOA and, like any red blooded American female on her own, dared them to confront me, and parked next to Craig. Hang the color of the durn card on the post.
Of course Craig helped some, my partner in crime, he put leaves on the post to hide the original color, which I DID NOT HAVE on my person.
So there is the whole, unadulterated sad story of the red/green card for TNSue. Lightening never did strike, uhhhhhmm do you suppose that is why Craig had such bad luck going home???????? My fault?
Sorry Craig, sure didn't intend to cause you any grief.

Don't worry Sue, it was nothing either one of us did, I think! Tires do strange things and it was strange that both did not blow. I replaced the tire, had all balanced and rotated them while I was at it. Glad to see that you had fun Sun & Monday. Hope Bobby Brown was fun and your trip toward CA. uneventful. Be careful and hope to see you at the next rally. I'd be more than happy to run another motorhome out of there for you.
