NorCal : Nor Cal Forum Rally, Laguna Seca, October 29-31

Hear ye, Hear ye, calling all Forum members
to the first official
Northern California Forum Rally!

Come one, come all to Laguna Seca Recreation Area,
October 29-31.

I reserved 10 sites in the Chaparral campground for our group but we can easily get more (81 sites). The sites have water/electric hookups with dump station in campground. So there is room for all. Mark your calendars- the more, the merrier!

We also get FREE use of the group area which has a clubhouse with kitchen and a big BBQ area with tables. I figure this will be a perfect spot to have our BBQ get-together on Saturday night. It has night lighting.

October is simply beautiful on the Monterey Bay! So much to do- the possibilities are almost endless. I'll post some possibilites later.

Organization/schedule of the rally will be hammered out here so put in your 2 cents. It will be Halloween weekend- any ideas?

So what do you say, whose going to come? Lets get a show of hands.

Is that considered Northern CA by Californians? I look at that map and see Central CA. Ah well.

Cant make it anyway, will be in Europe at that time. Perhaps another rally.

Californians usually divide the state between "North and South" at San Louis Obispo. It's a cultural dividing line not geographic. But yes, technically, Monterey is the central coast.

Nice, Big Dee! Thank you for making such a concentrated effort for all of us.
I need to check a few things I am doing in October already, but will make reservations very soon if the schedule fits. I love Monterey Bay, one of my best friends lives there. The harbor area is a lot of fun, too. Plus they have clubs with live music on the weekends. Also, plenty of mass consumer infrastructure around here, for those that like to shop after arrival, instead of dragging everything along. There really is something to do for everyone. Highly recommendet.

My husband and I are putting on a play here in Vancouver on those dates, else I would have tried to make it to this. That's such a beautiful area, and lots to do. Maybe next year. Great idea, Big Dee!

I will be bringing my big box kite. With the wide open space and and a light wind it will be great. Everybody bring a kite. Maybe we could make a kite that looks like a Airstream?
