Here is the thread
I found this old thread. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f287...nks-27788.html It goes back a couple of years. The tanks can be fun if not practical with the 'see through' advantage. The prices quoted make DG's low price find a steal.

[quote=Big Dee;623459]a big congrats to DG for the end of his commutes to UCD. that's a toast at the wine happy hour.
Dan;
A toast at the happy hour would be fine with me, ONE thing- lets raise the glass to the other cancer survivors in our group, I know of 5 others, 2 of us have had radiation and the other surgery , since we last met at Casini.
I have been home a lot for the last 2 months and been posting quite a bit enjoying my cyber time with my NorCal friends, it has kept my mind active and kept me aware that there is a lot more good times in my future.I'm still a little low on energy so excuse me if it takes me a moment to get my glass raised- but trust me it will be raised, and I will enjoy the sound of the glasses touching together.
O.K. enough of that crap.. EVERYBODY LIMBO!!!!

Thnx Dan, a little difference of about $500k, eh?
By the way, I'll be bringing my mini 'piano' bar for some light nite music: maybe we can have a little crooning and singalong w/the members who want to exercise their vocal chords while imbibing and libating a 'little'!!! everyone will sound fabulous!!

Don't you think that I deserve to go to Transyvania? Both of my parents emigrated from Transylvania to the USA- I am 100% Transylvanian! I have been back once and it was quite an experience. I still have my 96 year-old Aunt Mitzi there, cousins, etc. Read all about my childhood experiences growing up Transylvanian...

Old camping stuff
Hey;
I just stumbled upon my old SVEA123 camping stove! Remember those? I got this one in 1971 when I was a hiker kinda guy.
It's been sitting for about 25 years unused, still has fuel in it. So I lit it up- still works as advertised, sweet.Sounds like a miniature jet engine!
Anyone else have any old camping stuff they want to share at the Rally??
I remember Neil has a few nice old lanterns, I seen em,
What else?

I have one of those....about the same vintage! I think I paid less than $20 for mine... Mine became undependable ~10 years ago, and replacing parts didn't seem to help. I bought a new backpack stove, but it has never made a trip further than my backyard . I must say that the new one is much more efficient, but it lacks the character of the good ole SVEA 123
I will be thinking of all of you partying it up at Jackson Rancheria....while we are back east feasting on lobster and fall colors! We leave on Tuesday...
Cheers

Yeah, I have 2 Coleman Quick Lites. One I traced to before 1920 and the other late 20's They have the old mica shades...not glass. They both work but one has begun to leak. No, I did not buy them new! I was not going to bring them 'cuz I don't think we're gonna need 'camping' equipment at the Rancheria. But if others are bringing stuff for show-and-tell I will bring 'em along with the Coleman stove (this one whistles too) and lantern that I DID buy new in 1957.

My wife and I are new to the airstream life and this forum and wont be able to make this trip but would love to join all you local Nor Cal folks in a spring event perhaps. My truck is down right getting a new transmission but will be back on the road soon. Our previous SOB has been all over Northern Calif. campgrounds but never tried the Jackson Rancheria. Sounds like you will have a great time!
Maybe next time

Golly, Gee, I sure wish I still had my dads old blow torch. I remember as a boy just watching and listening to it.
