An Argosy in Saudi Arabia
Hi all, and greetings from Saudi Arabia.
Glad to see you're still enjoying getting together. We sure wish we could've been there with you. Who knows? Maybe next year.
I was driving back from a desert camping trip with a friend yesterday, and I was telling him about the great friends we made rallying with all of you, and then I told him about Airstreams and Argosies, and some of the differences between the two. Just as I was finished I looked over at the side of the road and saw this '77 Argosy. What are the odds? They're not exactly a common sight state-side, but I figure this is probably one of only 4 or 5 (if not the only one) in the kingdom, or maybe the entire peninsula.

And I hope you'll forgive me for being (way) off topic, but what do you think of my new tow vehicle?

Mo-o-o-re....
"Elegant". Thanks, John, but when the subject(s) are 'elegant' picture taking is made that much easier.
The Day after...or Gettaway day for most began with a light blanket of ocean fog. Of course it's Easter and what a better time for a brunch, final chats and goodbyes.

All done....
It's time to put this thread to bed. It's been a week since most of us towed our aluminum cocoons home. Another great rally and now we look forward to NorCal's Jackson Rancheria Rally in October and don't forget the Lassen- Lava Beds Cararally in August.
When most of you were parking your rigs at your home bases Lynn and I stayed on at Casini 2 more days. The weather did not improve so we took a drive up HWY 1 to Fort Ross. It was windy and cold but a beautiful looking day. I had visited Ft. Ross several times before meeting Lynn and after we have visited together. As we approached the fort the changes like the highway used to go through the fort made us realize the time that has passed. We recalled the last time we were there was before kids....40 years ago! YIKES!!
Happy Streaming all.
Neil.

RE Ft Ross Photos: Lovely photos,as usual, Neil!
The day we left to go home-on Easter Sunday-we did a U-turn on Guerneville Rd (scary) and decided to go back to Petaluma via the Pacific Coast Highway. What a spectacular day it was too! An unbeknownst-to-us Airstream passed us and we both waved. Kinship -from here to the Saudi sand dunes-brings us all a little closer.
Till we meet again...

the Rally Rocked!!!
i think i am the last one to get home since i am just getting in now. that was 5 nights at casini and 4 nights at santa cruz. i had a fantastic time with the highlight being a being a fantastic rally. thank you to everyone who made this such a successful rally. and i mean everyone! but i must mention a special norcal rally thank you to:
doorgunner- that was a super fun happy hour you hosted, thank you! i could not believe what a great turn out we had. and the michael david wines were superb. i am sending them a thank you email shortly. it was the highlight of the weekend for me.
sue- thank you for hosting the first ever norcal easter brunch. i eat too many deviled eggs. and the mimosas tasted wonderful. the alumalounge MUST be more central next time. we will have to make sure of that.
neil- neil and lynn always arrive early to greet everyone and always stay late to say goodbye. they are our very own official rally greeters. and after looking at another awesome set of pics, neil must be our official norcal rally photographer as well. good job neil!
yes time to put this thread to bed. i hope everyone will consider the lassen cararally. reservations shouldn't be needed. so come. and will be seeing everyone for another great norcal rally at jackson. i think DG said there were 2 sites left.

Yesterday I met with Kathy and Clint and Paul at Michael~David winery. Clint presented Paul with a cartoon of the wine tasting event, Paul being the shy kinda guy he is was speechless. He indicated he also had received e-mails from folks and was happy to have donated the fine wine!
The cartoon is available for viewing on the "Rally truths" thread that Clint started, maybe some one can do the link thing here. or better yet the
'drag and drop thing"
Anyway kudos to Clint !!!

Thanks Tim, Dan and everyone. I gave Paul the original, so I can't make copies or I'd give you one.
Meanwhile, got an e-mail this am from lil' sister so Kath and I are off again to see my ailing Mom in Texas. This'll be our 4th trip there with our 2yr old Bambi. Fortunately, we have family and friends along the route. Hope there'll be more trips in the future.

A Few More Images
We finally got around to downloading a few images of Collin and Christian taken at Jenner-right above the seals on the beach.
The last image is of the whopper Christian caught on the river. Don't give up hope all you anglers out there-here's proof that there are fish in the river!
Thanks again for a great time. We're looking forward to seeing you all soon!
