Casini and Jackson

Through discussions, there had been interest in changing the Jackson rally to the spring time and Casini or some other location to the fall.
Things that have been noted are weather, rates, availability, other rallies, other calendar activities, personal interests, etc.
Once again the fall rally will be held at Jackson in October 2014. This location is becoming more popular each year; I generally discuss our contract with Jackson Staff 16 to 18 months in advance of our annual rally here and needed to commit to dates for October 2014. Their booked most of next year already and it was in best interest to reserve dates for October today. I've set the dates for October 10-12, 2014 and will be signing a contract.
I plan to discuss with many of you either through this thread or at Jackson next month the rotation of the Jackson rally to April beginning in 2015.
Seems a bit crazy to think so far ahead; but group arrangements can be a challenge.
To change rotation for Jackson to the spring time in 2015, it will need to be secured by April, 2014.
Now is anyone volunteering to host happy hour Friday night, or do we all storm a site by random!
|
We'd be fine with making the time of year change for Casini and Jackson. Additionally, please mark us down for Jackson for 2014.

WOOO HOOO; party @ Ric & Jeans. I'll be all over that friday evening!!
I got the plumbing almost finished today. 1/3 of the holes in the frames would not hold the bolts in, rusted out. Next move is to locate some self tappers and wind them in, I could drill out the frame and re-tap, don't really see the need with the new technology fasteners.
Bob, we're not going to move Jackson, it's there to stay, just gonna attempt to change the dates we stay there.. lol Then again it is a sovereign nation, so we'll have to check with them
Jimmy pulled off a masterful start today to postpone the end of it all another day! The bartenders in New Zealand are lovin him!!!
Got the diffuser panels cut for the new led lights in the bathroom, I'll attempt to form them tomorrow with my heat gun.
I know no one is reading this as few have voiced their opinion on SWITCHING THEM..lol
I'm ready to rally

I think the rest of us grokked the intent of the "move Jackson" comment rather than the literal meaning. I like the LED light approach, but A generally does not like the "cold" light color, so I look forward to seeing what color you've chosen.
Heat guns are fun: I used one to defrost my small freezer in the garage and discovered how to melt a hole in the internal liner. More power, more power!!

We're cool with leaving the dates the same or switching them -- Casini was nice this year but I do understand it's been cold/wet in previous years. We're good with whatever the majority decides! Can't wait to see everyone again!!!
Hey - does anyone know - is that kitchen store doing a demo again this year -- we loved that place (and the 15% discount) - I'm in the market for some new skillets and they have the ones I want!!

Perry (NevadaGeo) set that up for us last year. Maybe Perry will chime in here and let us know.

Jeff, I can't read the chart and when I try to enlarge it it get blurry. I am assuming that we are in the same spot as last year. Is that right ??

Yeah, to all of the above! Is there still room at the Casini rally ? If so, can you put us down to go ? I'm finding these deadlines work well in my management of Mark's work on the "Honey Do" !! LOL I think I will have to do all of the polishing, when we get to that point, to make up for all the work he is doing.

On a side note-- John -have you made it to the city to watch the Kiwi's dominate?? Think Jimmy can win 8 of the next 9 to retain the cup? slim chance. and about your axles, if you were so worried about your hubs only dropping 1/2" when lifted you could have just switched to steel rims and solid rubber tires.

Jeff, the coast IS nicer in the fall so Lynn and I would prefer the Casini rally in the fall. As I grow further into seniordom I find that I resist change. With that said after the change is made I may find myself head'n south to Jackson instead of west to Casini. I will deal with it. As for 'losing' 2 EZups to the Casini winds (one actually CLEARED the top of our Airstream and land in a tree) last spring we spent a few days prior to the C-Rally at Bodega Bay with a few other AS friends. The off shore wind there took some of our camp items from under our AS into the bay and best guess we witnessed a reverse tsunami and the items are head'n to Japan.
We returned early from our September visit to Wright's Lake as Lynn became ill enough that I felt important to rush her to emergency. ALL test results were negative but she is still recovering. I had to return to WL to gather our camp gear and AS. Fortunately we did enjoy a weekend visit from daughter and hubby, 2 grandsons, our granddaughter and her daughter our great granddaughter. Life IS good.

Today it is raining gently here. Nice. The AS remains to be unloaded from our shortened 'vacation' at Wright's Lake. I left it connected to our convertible because I have to tow it up the driveway to the 'RV pad'. Early next week our driveway will be 'sealed'. We had planned our vacation to be away then to avoid these double moves. After the sealing I will bring the AS back down to here, it's 'summer' spot.

I don't think adding to the list came out right. Anyway, we're up for Casini in the fall, but curious about Jackson in the Spring, might it be chilly there at that time of year? Otherwise, we're game, count us in.

I'd be up for Casini in the fall when there's less risk of torrential rain.
Spring in the Sierra foothills brings out the wildflowers. That could be gorgeous!
The question is: Would we do the switch by doing two Casini Rallies (Spring and Fall) in a row, or two Jackson rallies (Fall and Spring)?
