Jeff,

With all this action maybe JRRV will increase our site allocation, sure would be nice to have silver shining in EVERY site!

My checks in the mail too Jeff!! I found the stamped card from JR too and included that! See everyone at Casini!

I find it amazing that JR is getting more attention than Casini. And it's months AFTER that! We might want to think to replace the next Casini with a 2 yearly visit to JR.

I love the split between the coast and the mountains. The river and the wildness of Casini make it feel like a very different kind of vacation.

Agreed, but Casini has jacked up their prices.....and it IS off season. We have reduced our usual 7 day stay and added a pre Casini visit to Bodega Bay with Warbler 5. Plenty of sites available NOW at 30 bucks a night.

I'd jump at Bodega Bay in a heartbeat, but I have to work. I wouldn't mind if the whole Casini meet moved to Bodega Bay, but I'm not sure there would be room for all of us.

We're curious to try out the campgrounds in Bodega Bay. I looked at Olema and the layout is kind of cool and might be a fun alternative to Casini. It's still 50 bucks a night (somehow for 3 nights at Casini next year, I paid $171) but for a week, you get 7 nights for the price of 6.

Love the area. Kayaking in Bodega Bay didn't look too exciting to us this summer, so we went down to Tomales Bay. But Bodega looks great for camping.

The Tomales camground (not the real name) is right at the mouth of the bay.

That's Dorran State Park. Bart and I stayed there last February. There is another campground that I wish I'd known about, around the other side of the bay, right below Bodega Head. Next time...

That's the one, right near the little roadside place with clam chowder to die for, right?

We stayed at Porto Bodega rv and marina a couple of years ago. It's small, with 45 full hookups but pretty quiet generally. I think it was the Sandpiper cafe next to the park, but they moved up the street somewhere. You can google porto bodega marina to get the satellite view, & go to their website for more info.

I just stayed at Doran Beach, Sonoma County park. It's right out on the jetty. 3 feb was opening day for crab season. A few jumbo's wandered into my traps!! sites are dry camping with a dump station on site.there were about 150 kayakers crabbing with so-so results, hopefully the crabs will trek into the 30 foot range. most stinkpotters were doing well at 60 feet.
I differ with Zep about not to exciting at Doran beach. The surf line there is really great for sharpening your skills in small breaking waves. It's fun to play in that stuff.
I've not stayed at Westside, I'ld much rather be out on the jetty.
The State park right next to Westside if fine also. tent camped there some time ago, also stayed just up the coast a few clicks north in a tent in the sand 10 feet from the ocean.
about the crab place- Spud Point-. when the crab is in season fresh crab is available, off season frozen is used, commercial crab season starts next week.
Also the view is much better on the peninsula than at Westside. just my opinion.
whats this got to do with JRRV.
once a year there is enough for me.
I would rather flip JRRV and Casini.
JRRV in spring and Casini in the fall. again just my thoughts.

Hey Jeff,

Please put us on the standby list for 10/10-10/13. Didn't think it was going to get booked up so quick! Thanks!
