OK everyone, I can't stand not having a forum rally on my calendar. So I'll get the ball rolling. In interests of simplicity, I've narrowed the choice down to five campgrounds in different areas that we all have discussed.

Casini Ranch Family Campground is a beautiful campground on the Russian River with trees and grass.
Location: Russian River, Duncans Mills

El Chorro Regional Park is located in the coastal hills of San Luis Obispo on an old dairy farm. We might get some So Cal members to rally with us here.
Location: Coastal Hills, San Lius Obispo

Snug Harbor has waterfront sites on the Delta. I know this will be a popular choice. Please note that it is a small park and reservations must be paid in full and are non-refundable.
Location: The Delta, Walnut Grove

Dos Reis Regional Park is in the San Joaquin Valley tucked away on the banks of the San Joaquin River.
Location: San Joaquin River, Lathrop

Casa de Friuta is probably known to all as it is on Hwy 152. Great place for families.
Location: Pacheco Pass, Hollister

We love the northwest and would love to join a goup of fellow Airstreamers. These locations are all new to me. We have been repeat customers of Pismo Coast Village in Pismo Beach as well as Ben Bow (just below Garberville) All the way up to Whaleshead Oregon. My wife does not like to dry camp she likes her 20 minute showers. One of our favorites is Sea Cilff State Park just below Santa Cruz, because of the popularity of being right on the beach with full hooks, reservations are a must with seven month advance reservations, only 26 sites. Just a thought, What kind of time frame are you thinking? I feel left out since the get together at Laguna Sega and all the new friendships being made. We do competion BBQ and would love to share some baby backs with all.

Tinsel,

I thought we could decide on a place, then we could vote on a weekend. I am thinking March, April, or May.

It depends on the time of year. I.E. you may not want to have a rally inland during the winter months. Something close to the beach might be better. There are three parks that I know of in the Pismo/ Oceano area. Ocean Canyon resort (Avila beach area) and a couple in Morro Bay. Has anyone been to Lake San Antonio? Maybe it's too isolated? You can look them up on:

That's my two cents,
Paul

It gets really nice in April/May in the valley/Delta. Before the weather gets too warm and after the cold of winter.

Lake San Antonio is a good choice because it is so big but I thought too close to Laguna Seca. Looks like Pismo is always a popular chioce but getting reservations in the spring can be difficult, especialy for a group. That's what I was thinking, anyway.

Wine Country RV in Paso Robles would be a great place ... they are set up to host rallies ... the park is very nice ... and Paso is beautiful in the Spring. We stayed here for a month during April while getting ready to hit the road.

Petunia and I should be back in the area sometime in April or May and will be camping at Wine Country.

Glad that it's back OK now where was I Oh ya about the date I vote for April 7,8 & 9th 2005 only because we will be at Sea Cliff State Beach April 2-9 and Pismo Coast Village April 10-17 which would allow us to reach any of the locations in transition. If anybody would like to join us at either location, the more the merrier.

Excella,

I don't understand. Won't you be at Sea Cliff for the weekend of April 7, 8, 9? Are you willing to give up time at Sea Cliff for the rally? That's a sacrifice.

Big Dee

To meet some new fellow airstreamers and share some food and sit around the camp fire and tell stories seems more a BIG bonus more than a sacrifice to me. So how about that date with everyone?

Get a dart board ready with the months and days displayed on it. Drink heavily for about one hour. Stand about 10 meters away and begin throwing the darts which should be done in total darkness. IMPORTANT: DO NOT HANG DART BOARD ON OR NEAR YOUR AIRSTREAM. Check the results the following day. The decision of month and days will be apparent.
Hint: Try to hit the month of May.

I've been to Lake San Antonio, and had a lot of fun.
The hoohup sites are on a plateau above the lake, but without lake view.
I found the sites comfortable, with fire rings, although somewhat dusty. No reservations, I was told. We camped there in September and were the only guests there.
The deer is so tame, they come and check out what's for dinner.
It a very beautiful camping area, natural and rural. It was quite inexpensive as well, if i remember right.

Wink Casini Ranch Wins?

It is looking like Casini Ranch on April 8 - 10. I prefer the month of April but if anybody has another date, we can hash it out. The poll closes in 18 days so plenty of time to make your vote count. This thread has not been replied to by a number of Laguna Seca attendees, so I hope they will chime in soon. And I hope we get some newcomers to join in. So vote if you haven't already and see if April 8 - 10 will work for you. We need to start making reservations in January.
