Since Roger's first choice of entertainment (blowing things up!) would probably get us all kicked out, he vote's for a horse shoe tournament.

Is this rally open to vintage kin? If so, I would interested in P22. That's my birthday weekend and been looking for somewhere to go.

Rally is open to anyone whether you have an Airstream or not. I'll give a call to SilverTwinkie and let him know you are interested in the site. He will probably PM you back with the information in order to coordinate the site with you. Please let me know once you are confirmed and I'll add you to the list.

Apparently DrRob cancelled his site as I just booked P18 on reserve America. We will be getting there Thursday night and leaving Sunday. Look forward to meeting everyone!

Anyone one interested in P22? Last day before Eric cancels the reservation on it. Would love to see this taken by one of our folks.

Site F-9

Laird and I drove over to Moraine View this morning to check out our site. We noticed that a big tree in the F loop has died. The tree is a lone tree towards the north end of the F loop (opposite end from the water front sites.) The trunk of the tree is probably still sound. However, if we have a storm with strong winds, some of the branches might come down. Site F-9 looked as if it was in the greatest danger of falling limbs.

Perhaps the tree will be taken down or at least topped out before the rally; though the funds may not be available to take the tree down.

F-9 reserved for Fri and Sat nights

We didn't see a need to notify the ranger. The camp hosts are on site. It is obvious that the tree is dead. At least one tree by P-14 had already been removed and the stump ground out. Lots of mowing was going on yesterday when we were there so grounds maintenance seems to be happening.

We reserved F-9 for Friday and Saturday nights to keep it within our group for the two nights when we have our hot dog supper and potluck/movie night.

If the tree is gone or topped off before the rally or if someone wants to give the site a try with the tree there, let me know and we'll release F-9.

So, right now maccamper has F-9 reserved for Friday and Saturday night. It is available to use as a location for food tables or the "menfolk" activities mentioned in an earlier post (ha!) -- though canoeing on the site may be difficult.

We do have a tent we can bring if it appears that we need to have something set up on F-9 to keep the reservation.

I don't think you can hold on to a site with nothing on it. I remember they once gave away a spot that we attempted to reserve onsite for a last minute attendee. They wouldn't allow us on site to make the reservation since we already had a spot. How did you pull this off, especially when they will check off the site when you get to the registration cabin?

An individual can reserve more than one site, tho, can't they?

You just have to list who will be occupying. I have done that before.

Reserve America may be easier to deal with than the individual whims of camp hosts.

I remember the very hot rally one year, when the camp host decided on his own to turn off the electricity for an indefinite time period.
