Loved our 1st big rally!

We r going down the mountain now reflecting on how much fun we had! The views were amazing and so were the people! We loved touring all the different Airstreams and made new friends. What could be better? We are hooked! Ready to come back in the Spring. Now, who can organize a summer beach rally?

This might have been the year of the tow vehicle. That's not an abandoned vehicle? Really? Awesome job Geven and Jordan.

First Timers From SC!

We enjoyed our first Falluminum! The tour of homes was so much fun! Meeting all of the Aluminum Lovers was fantastic! Thanks to everyone for all the effort made to make this event possible. We can't wait to see everyone again.

The hills were alive with the sound of aluminum.

It even attracted a beaver from across the lake to come over and check things out.

I hope those Channel Locks on the fender didn't scratch my patina...the paint on the truck was done by a friend's 5 and 7 year old boys...with a paint brush no less. You just can't make this stuff up.

G

PS...yeah, a trip over to Jordan's is pretty much a trip to toyland!

Chicken and Dumplin's

Everthing was delicious at both meals...but I'd really like to know how to make those chicken and dumplin's that someone brought...they were absolutely awesome! Whoever you are, PM me if you don't mind sharing your secret recipe.

Thanks to everyone for all your wonderfully prepared dishes. I especially liked my wife's Jambalaya with Adella's chicken and apple sausage.

Thanks, G

Leilani, General Stores, BBQ & apple pies (today's msg brought to you by Rib Country)

The ride home was uneventful as far as problems go...(other than getting stuck on the hill of my gravel driveway trying to get in). A quick call to my neighbor friend and his added tongue weight had us on our way. Yes, my wife was there and no I didn't ask her to stand on the tongue for "extra weight". We're celebrating 25 years together next week and it's those little extra measures of "thinking" that has gotten us there...ha!

G

Little Leilani insisted on dancing her way through Helen, Ga on the way home...luckily traffic wasn't bad. people were staring at us...we kept thinking Ruby left her purse on the roof or something...

Hey Brad..."it'll buff out"...We did get a little over 14 mpg on reg. unleaded and that was towing over the mountain North of Helen. Much better mpg than towing with the Airstream B190 and a little better than the woody wagon. Not quite as good as the 23.9 MPG the truck got when we drove it to Nashville a couple of weekends ago (without the camper)...but I had to change the rear end gear ratio to be able to tow!

It's a great and fun little truck. I'm working on something else that is out of the normal "tow vehicle" range that I can hopefully tow the Caravel up there with in the Spring.

Thanks for all the interesting comments...especially from my good friend, David F. who informed me as we pulled in that this was a campground, not the local trailer park...ha!

[QUOTE=nilesrob;1221407]The hills were alive with the sound of aluminum.

I now know what the sounds of aluminum are...as it is being pummeled by acorns early on a Sunday morning. I'm glad my trailer was already adorned with plenty of "character"...so maybe those new marks will just blend in (if there are any).

Thank you so much for the kindness that was extended to us when we came to the Falluminum Rally. We enjoyed getting to go into so many different Airstreams during the Open House. We look forward to joining in on all of the fun as soon as we get our special Airstream.
