Jalama Beach Winter Rally Info:

i called, and this is the Str8 poop:

any reservations for group areas for Jalama Beach for 2008 may not be made until and starting on or after Sept., 4th 2007.

i'll call again on Sept., 4th.

based on the info i recieved, this is going to be tough. evidently this is one popular destination. however i'll do my best...

Excellent work Ms. Lavacakes. That sounds like a good possibility for a summer rally. I won't be able to join you this weekend as I will be frolicking with the freaks at Burning Man in the desert (yes Goins, LOTS of desert).

And Mr. Bo...if we are first in line on Sept. 4th and can snag Jalama...great.
If not, plan B: Lake Cachuma will be fine.

So it's all good.

If anybody can do it it's you Kevin. It is a very popular spot and difficult to get into for non-group sites. They don't take reservations. Jan and I tried to get in one early May weekend a couple years ago. We took off work on Friday and left early to get a space. We got there about 10:00AM. Evidently other campers had similar notions. There were 3 empty spaces available...and 36 people that wanted them. They were going to hold a lottery for the vacant sites at 1:00 PM. We left and went over to Cachuma.

Wait a sec. I gotta get this right.

It will be Summer. So we'll be going to Temecula where its hot as heck and we'll be two miles from a Lake. Sounds like Gorman.

This Winter we're going to the beach and this Summer we're goin to the Desert?

Oh well. Just found out I will be out of town...way out of town in South Africa in June so cannot visit Temecula with y'all. Disregard previous posts about heat and absent lakes and have a Margi for me while careening down the waterslides.

Can't get ressies there til 6 month prior, we will probably do the balloon fest on our own then...we are checking out Vail lake next week. Anyone have military connections that can get us on a beach---Safari Rick?? and what months are we looking at?

There are Military RV parks at Pendelton (USMC) and Pt. Magu (USN) that I know of.

GlennG, Everyone is invited to any CalStreamer Rally.

We have one before this in Nov. Look up CalStreamers Fall Rally on the rally page and sign up. Only a few spaces left.

Our rallies as you can tell are not very formal. So sign up join in and have a good time.

We'll save a spot at the campfire for you.

I know there is not a location locked up, just a point of interest -
Jalama road is currently closed due to a fire in the area. It is currently moving away from the CG, hope the winds don't switch.
