Sadly the Labor movement screws up every three day weekend there is on some dumb march or breakfast.
My Union Rep. Got me out of having to do just that for Labor day. He'll be working to set me free for MLK.

Big Dee,
We have not stayed at Panamint Springs. Actually until we started hanging out with the folks here we'd never been to a Campground.
There a some stunning boondock places in the Panamint with killer views.
Our boondock time is limited by fresh water. You really have to modify your water usage. Eliminate nearly all or most dishwashing needs. i.e. paper plates food cooked on BBQ's. Showers are replaced with a washcloth and a sink etc. You can also bring extra water to extend. We can easily stay out a week.
In Winter we use a Honda 1000 for battery charging to power the furnace and in Summer a Honda 3000 powers the A/C when desired. As we speak a Solar system is being put on the trailer to eliminate the worry of battery power levels.
If you've never wilderness boondocked you gotta give it a try. It's a whole new world.

i use to boondock in my old vw camper up in green water valley near dantes view for years. now that was isolation. but now i sure like my shower by the third day and the wash cloth thing doesnt cut it for me. i understand how the water is the limiting factor as i couldnt last more than 4 days. anyway i could do 3 days of boondocking in the 'stream then head to panamint springs for some luxury of electricity and water. last time i was in death valley it was right after that "100 year flood" and boy was that interesting to see.

Big Dee,
The fourth night in a park for luxury is a great way to extend and enjoy a week of boondocking.
Uwe,
Have you been to the Panamints? Its very similar to Death Valley only without the regulations. In fact you can take a dirt road over the mountain from Panamint to Death Valley. 4X4 only.

Boondocking...
guys,
i can go eight days and seven nights boondocking w/ my CCD w/ 2 adults. we don't bring extra water (well we bring bottled water to drink and to cook with, regardless if we are boondocking or not).
i have the smallest blackwater tank in the fleet (18 gals) , and one of the smallest freshwater tanks in the fleet (42? gallons); excluding the Bambi's.
military showers, keep the pump switch off when not in use. baby wipes can be your best friend... just sayin...
i use a mountaineering 60 watt lantern for light at nite to conserve power, and i bring one or both of my honda EU2000's depending on the need.
also i just purchsed a coleman cat 1000 btu heater, so i don't have to run the furnance at nite (well unless were at 29 PALMS)
you can do it easy.
boys can pee outside.
paper plates, and plastic ware. it may not be the greenest of ventures, but recycle.

I just did 8 days boondocking (big time) at Burning Man on one tank of water.
No problem.
I had bottled water for cooking and drinking, took quick showers and yes, love the baby wipes.
And I've got the smallest 'stream in the bunch!

Question 1: Is baby wipes any different than kleenex wipes??
Question 2: Where do you apply them????
Question 3: How do you dispose them????
Question 4: Are they environmental friendly??? Before use??? After use???
Question 5: Are they considered hazardous waste after use as hospitals suggested???
Question 6: Do we need them at Vail Lake???
Final Q: Which thread is this???
Confused rallier=@@=

Dear Confused,
Uhhh....well
there are face wipes
and body wipes.
Body wipes are usually flushable.
However, do NOT put them in the Lake.
Vail or otherwise.
And some people may be extremely toxic.
And hazardous to your health.
Just sayin'...enough said.
Isn't this the Health Ed thread???

Thank you ms. bam.
Since this is the Health Ed thread, I also have another health related question: At which point, should one stop consuming alcoholic beverages and still able to corn toss without increasing chance of injury????
It is not specified in the Corn Toss Rule Book.
Need to know,
contestant =@@=
