Route will be determined by Roadside attraction/whim/thirst/general direction/fuel/trading post/Indian buriel grounds/Casino buffet/boondock spot etc.
If a more reliable route plan is needed somebody should volunteer.
Great call Goin,
A typical route for a California Streamers adventure...all over the map and causing chaos.

First night will be boondocking off Hiway 40. (Kelbaker Rd.) Thats 90 min past Barstow.
Next day we run out the 40 and head up the 89. We can make Monument Valley in one day. After that we head South for warmth Via the Hopi nation (More trading posts) and then through the Zuni and two different Apache Nations. Assuming our wagon train is not attacked (sorry) we'll make Globe and continue South to Mt Picachu. We'll have six days to make a three day trip.
From Monument Valley on we'll be on secondary roads and Reservations. Lotsa old roads for Trading posts and attractions.
Plenty of BLM land for boondocking and the occasional RV Park to empty, fill and luxeriate. Some cold up north and then warmpth down south.
We'll be in six nations in six days with a heckuva New Years party with the FCU at the end. Get up New Years Day and wipe the hangover from our eyes and head West. Stop for a meal and cheap fuel in Quartzside.
Bam if you want to stay over in our area we'll find you a nice place and take you out for a belated 28th Birthday dinner. Sorry that we don't have a place for your trailer in our Nazi HOA regulated nieghborhood. Or we'd park you out front for the night.
If you all do not want to go to the snow we can head South.
Quartzside to Yuma and across to Mt. Picachu. Much slower pace. BLM land boondocking. More camping and less driving. Maybe even a day trip to Mexico. Park in Az. and walk across the border.
after the final nite at the Gas Fest in ABQ, NM, i hitched the hemi and 'dream stream and drove all nite back to Bozeman. funny the KOA looks different. when it gets light, i'll send another report.

Yikes!!!
it would seem whilst exiting the Gas Fest for the final time last night in ABQ, i took a wrong turn; i think.
i'm at the KOA in Bozeman, not the KOA in Barstow.

Mr bo,
It sounds more like you may have been "picked up" somewhere near Rachel, Nevada and then "reloctaed" to a wayward KOA. Check for any unusual lumps on your neck. Are they wearing silver jump-suits? That may be a clue. do..do..do..da..do..you have entered the Twilight Zone....
