Hi Travellvr,

I can answer your immediate question and Jack (jcanavera) who is the organizer/host give you more info.

The rally is at the Moraine View State Recreation Area near Le Roy, IL. Most of the activities take place in the "F loop" sites. Some folks opt for the P sites close to or right across from the F loop. We have site P15 reserved. It's one of our favorite sites and over the years has become a familiar location for us.

Hope you can make it. Jack's rallies are casual and loosely structured which we love about it. The Moraine View Rally was the second rally we attended at "newbies" a few years ago now.

So glad that you'll be at the rally. It's always been one of our favorites. We've met lots of new, good friends this rally. We were just in Oklahoma City for a long weekend. We didn't tow this time. It was a short visit to touch bases with our kids and granddaughter. We keep saying we need to get back down to Texas .... the Austin area in particular and south of there for some BBQ.

All of the F sites are available F1-F9. These are good sites with many having views of the lake. These will be close to the movies food and are great for group gatherings. These sites are also closest to a water outlet in case you need to top off your tank.

So let me know if you name isn't on the list and seriously consider the many open sites we have at this time. Once the weather gets warm, these sites will book up. Remember if you book and cancel, you will only be charged a $5 cancellation fee by ReserveAmerica. Let me know if you have any questions. I'd love to see this F loop fill up with Airstreams or those who may be thinking of an Airstream in the future.

Pam and I planned on coming this year but had bad hail storm here. Our 87 airstream got totaled by the insurance company.lot of hail dents broke the air cover and all the vents.I don't think I will buy it back. repairable but has lot of dents. We had a lot of damage to our homes roofs siding etc. Sorry to let the trailer go as interior is still very nice. Just put new tires on it and bought brakes etc. hope you all have a great time!!

Sorry to hear. Hail can do some horrible damage to an Airstream. Are you planning to purchase another trailer, Airstream or otherwise? Would have loved to see you both. Lots of space this year!

Wow, time is passing fast. We are less than 60 days to the rally. Hope you have either reserved or can now make your decision. For those of you attending for the first time, remember these are electric only sites. Be sure to bring a filter with you if you decide to fill at the park. Those in the F loop also have a spigot available within the loop that will help you top off.

The park has two dump stations, a bath house, and playground for the kids. We are also next to a lake and there is a swimming beach. Activities will include our hot dog fest on Friday around 5 pm. Trailer tours on Saturday at noon, Pot luck dinner at 6 pm, and movies at dusk.

I see you're from central Illinois so you may already be familiar with Black Dog, but if you love BBQ, it's definitely worth a stop in Champaign-Urbana (approximately 35 miles away from the rally site at Moraine View) to eat there!

Thanks for the tip! We are often in the Champaign/Urbana area and will give Black Dog a try. Based on the reviews I just read, it would be a mistake not to check out their BBQ. Sounds like their burnt ends are a hit but you have to get there very early.
