Outrageous Propane Pricing

After getting a price of $3.90 a gallon to fill my 34 gallon truck tank locally, I did some internet and telephone snooping. Local distributor that wanted the $3.90 a gallon would fill a 30# tank for $20.25 or about $2.89 a gallon. I asked about the descrepency, and the woman on the phone had no explaination. Lowest I could find was locally was $2.65. Soooooooo, I loaded up the truck with all my empty tanks and headed to the Great State of Georgia, about an hour away to fill up at the nearest Flying J for $1.79 a gallon I figure I saved about $120 by driving up there. Yeah, I burned some diesel going up there and back, but I would have felt pretty violated handing over that $3.90 to a local shyster

.................Most large volume 'pane dealers want to screw'ya and tattoo'ya for the privilage of selling you some of their golden elixir that we have to have for life "on da road" to be Habitable . That usually translates into paying a premium on any purchase less than 100 gallons . r66

Look around

While FLA is not know for it.......it is a big Agricultural state. Go to any CO-OP and get your Propane (diesel too as far as that ). Dont know their prices. I hate to say it but FLA has more cattle than Texas.....and your probably non-plused at that ...unless your interested in methane power.
