LP Regulator

I have the original Fischer LP regulator on my coach. Seems to work great. However, when there is a large demand for LP (when the water heater fires up), if you are up close to the regulator it sounds as if there is a leak. There's no leak though. Is it normal when there is a large demand for LP to hear the regulator?

I have heard this hissing, whining sound also. It is the low pressure LP being sucked out of the regulator. Some regulators do this, most don't. If you want to be sure, run the coach by a RV specialist, and have them take a listen. They may, but probably not, charge you a couple of bucks, but it will be worth it in peace of mind.

I used to have a regulator on my SOB that had a low moan sound dependent upon the gas flow. Never caused a problem, just a little concern the first time you hear it. The big regulator on my home natural gas supply moans (only louder) when the water heater is running. I always thought it was the metering mechanism until the TT regulator started doing its song.
