@PharmGeek;
Nothing wrong with being skeptical...in fact that's a great way to approach anything in today's information-overloaded society.
What I suggest is seek out members that have been towing much of their lives and see what they think. What I suspect you will find is that many are using a Hensley or Pro Pride, or tow a fairly modest trailer with an F350 or some such. Experience is the only real teacher, and the wise learn from the experiences of others.

Interesting thread you guys have going here. It seems to me the collective wisdom is ' it's your life/airstream, don't take a chance, get the best'. It's too much effort to refute that kind of logic so I won't.
I use an old fashion reese dual cam on my 21 ft. and on my 25 ft. Airstreams. They work great. Never had a problem. No oscillation. Easy to hook up. Easy to set up.

John H, you poor thing (as my dear old Grand Mother would have said). According to some misguided souls here you are living on borrowed time and you should be ashamed for putting your family and the lives of others on the line each and every time you hook up and hit the road. Shame on you.
I say if it works for you that is good enough and if others don’t like it that is their problem not yours.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record...although I would like to one day own a ProPride (I saw a youTube video of Sean looking at a website where Hensley was bad-mouthing the ProPride- not cool) I STILL don't think I am endangering myself or others by towing with the Equal-i-zer. I will run what I brung and be thankful to have it. Fellow 'Streamers with Reese, EazLift, Andersen, or whatever brand I still love ya and hope to see you at a campground soon.

Without better research of some kind many many will reasonably question most all assertions....
It will go on and on and on....

Some just drop the Airstream on the hitch ball of a sturdy truck and go, and report long trips with no sway, no semi push, feels just fine.
Many hitch users report the same. I've done that, have a ProPride now. I wasn't lying, I was just in the dark.

I'm marking this post as illegal for having weigh too many puns in one sentance!

I beg to differ....many,many won't/don't question all assertions.
It's not the research that's lacking, it's the astute application of un-common sense, supplied by those who have travelled a little further down that road.
It's not rocket science, your towing a trailer after all.
We towed an AS for 18 Seasons without ever knowing about this site, I guess it was just plain dumb luck that we made it thru unscathed, or possibly, just maybe.....not.

my point is that independent research helps reduce uncertainty about various claims...
Im sold on the "best" hitch because I think that it will be an excellent hitch based on multitude of reviews, I have the money, and it will give me perhaps some peace of mind....
Having said that...my guess is that for various truck/trailer combinations, it is quite plausible? that certain hitches could work, be very safe, etc...
"It's not rocket science, your towing a trailer after all. "
The scientific method applies to all truth claims, not just rocket science of course

Ahhh.....all science is truth.
Sorry, I didn't realize that fact.

Correction: 4 Sided Problem S/B 4 Bar Problem
For what its worth I dug into my archives and found the article concerning the Hensley hitch geometry. I misspoke calling it a "4 Sided Problem" when it is actually called a "4 Bar Problem. Below I have attached the file for scrutiny:

I saw a Hensley video where he had it set up and showed how there can be no movement initiated from behind the hitch - it is most impressive

Not hard at all...
Took about 2hours study and 3hrs work.
But having the system laid out in front of you makes it much easier getting familiar with the names of all the unusual looking parts.
