Talking New Argosy Owner

Restoring is so much fun! We decided to pick up another project.
Missing a few things inside. Exterior is in great shape.

sold!

I found some of that green shag still stuck under a wall when I tore out my carpeting. It sure would make my green stove less lonely.

I saw that person had 3 Argosys on Ebay trying to sell them all in one auction. Do you know what ever happened to the one that was only good for parts?

Good job,

Steve

The toilet is in the TUB! No clue why they took it off, looks ok. Too wierd eh?
The exterior is real nice, the interior will need a cleaning and some work, but all in all I am some surprised!

I have a 1978 Argosy 24ft that I'm restoring. Thank goodness it didn't come with any green or gold, except the gold toilet. You can see pictures of it in my photo gallery here on the forum. It is almost the same as yours except it has a wide rub rail stripe that I see very few of. It's 70 here is Oklahoma today so I've been out restoring, what else. Good luck with yours. I'm sure you are better at this trailer rebuilding than I am, but this is my first really "project" trailer and I'm loving it. Judy

I've bookmarked your site. I'll be watching your progress. Why don't any of you experts live down this way? I could sure use some help that I don't have to read. I don't honestly believe anyone on this forum is from Oklahoma. I may have to retire and go to a rally to see another Argosy. I hope you will have as much fun with your cream baby as I'm having. Gets a little expensive, and I haven't even tried the refrig. or A/C or tried to light the heater. I was told they worked, but getting the nerve to try to start them comes hard. The heater and refrig just plain scare me. Judy

Congratulations!

Nice Argosy! Looks very close to our '76 Airstream 'cept ours has 2 doubles instead of the twins. I'll be watching to see what you do with the interior.

Looks like a nice unit. Let me know if you get tired of it, I am looking for a tandem-axle Argosy.

Wink Congrats on your '76 Stealth 'Stream!

Ooh... don't know that I like the spare tire (or anything) mounted to the rear bumper. There are issues with the moment arm posterior to the axle, force multiplication, etc. It shouldn't be necessary with a tandem axle trailer. You can always limp to town on 3 tires. I think the instructions are in the manual.

My P.O. had already changed the carpet -- and badly too. We were 'gold' inside. The couch upholstery is the same lovely color though. Hmm, I sure don't think I need my air conditioner for camping in the boonies. Nice unit!

Thanks! Carpet is out already, (got over 40 today, heat wave) The spare won't be there long, they destroyed the trunk lid mounting it on Hooked into AC today most everything powered up, including the Univolt. Already posting updates

Our Argosy came with the spare mounted on the tongue, between the propane tanks and the body of the trailer. It was secured by a piece of chain with a hook. Maybe not the best way, but it kept the spare off the back bumper...
