gravity fill hatch

So the PO when he did the gut job broke the plastic frame of the original thetford gravity water hatch. I have found out they are no longer available and to try and fix it is out my skill set. What have other used? I am a little concerned about using plastic as it is on the from of the trailer and will be subject to rocks. I am trying to find the missing/damaged stuff I need to get the shell sealed up so interior stuff can start.

Thetford water fill

I had the same situation. I used a plastic one. I had to do a patch overlay over the existing hole due to size difference.

You can go to the earlier Airstream tank fill. It looks like an old fuel tank fill spout, but it is all metal and still available. Vintage Trailer Supply has them.

I'm not sure if yours is the same as a 1972, sort of square with a key lock at the bottom. but I have the one I took out of my trailer. I replaced it with a solid stainless one I found on Amazon with a screw on lid, it's not locking, but I wasn't too worried. you can have the one I took out. I caution you though, the water that runs down the outside of the trailer runs in that door and down into the water tank. I assume there was supposed to be some weather stripping, and maybe that would work.

It's done. I mean mostly. It works anyway.

I used Perko deck fill options.

There are a few options that you might like.
You will probably have to remove the old fill and patch the hole. Then cut and install the new fill.
