'Caravan America'
Twenty British Families in Airstreams Participate in Foundation Project
They are members of the 20 British families comprising the first contingent of Caravan America, the lastest project in international understanding and good will of the Wally Byam Foundation. The adventure of Caravan America began for the Britishers soon after their plane landed at Dulles Airport in Washington.

Thanks Paul! I really appreciate all the vintage news we can get here on the boards. It would be interesting if any of our British members had family involved in this caravan. Notice all the Caravels -- that's gotta be a mousand bucks worth of aluminum glory by today's prices!
Anybody know when this was? The cars look late 60-ish. Caravels were only produced until '71 but the roadside windows aren't like the 18'. Therefore 1968 or before? I see some Mopar steel there. Anything the vintage car fans can tell us?

June 8, 1967
That happened June 8, 1967. They spent four weeks traveling across the USA taking in all the sites, large and small. I've often wanted to contact Airstream or the WBCCI to see if the have the info on the route they used.

The Wally Byam Foundation
Here are a few items from the Foundation years.
I will write a blurb later on. It will be posted on the Sierra Neveda Unit.
Because of the number of years, pictures, bulletins, and more; it will be awhile.
The Foundation did many, many wonderful things.
Best,
Dale "Pee Wee" Schwamborn
