04 bambi

Just got to see the 04' Bambi Safari 19' at our VA Dealer. We were very impressed at the "fit and finish" We spent several hours opening and closing doors etc.. IMHO, it seems that the F&F issues of 03' have been addressed. BTW A/S has added a 2nd battery. Have cut back on the curtains, now they only cover the windows, rather than most of the front and rear of the trailer. Not sure about the other "system issues" of the trailer. The dealer had his mark down price on the trailer at $28,904.(his list 31,583) The bambi did have the spare tire option, and rock guards, but I think that was all.
We would order the LS option on the Bambi, b/c the options suit us. Does our dealer's pricing sound fair? Any other 04' owners or prospective owners have any suggestions/ comments?

Thanks,
Abe aka vajeep

Got our '03 with non LS for 25k. Options we have are 3 burner stove, spare. If the LS is not a grand or two, I'd work the dealer lower or wait until off season hits. 18% discount of sticker is about the high end of the percentage which you seem nowhere near.....but you are special ordering??? Not sure what that does to the 18% figures. Ours listed for 30k for a reference point, so we got around 17%, but we didn't special order. If you have one off the lot, beat em up a bit more, or like I said, wait until off season to see if he's any hungrier unless you are in a hurry.

Dual batteries started in '03. Glad they stopped placing curtains all over the front. Kind of a sick joke reminding me that I don't have the wrap around front windows!

BTW, a person on the forum bought an 04 Classic. Same fit and finish issues, so though I am glad you found one that was put together well, go over it with a fine tooth comb since some 04s still have the issues. It's not gone in 04 from what I've seen and heard.

Hope that helps.

Hey Eric,
Funny you mentioned the classic. At this dealer( he has lots of rv's ,but only 7 A/S) 1 bambi, several safaris 25,28, and 30 and a classic. The longer A/S all had slide outs. I noticed that the F&F on the classic was poor. Cab. doors that would not shut, glue and insulation around the F/F and so on.... Even my wife noticed. Not what you would expect on the 60K plus A/S. (The classic was an 03" btw)
Our dealer did mention that if we to buy from an other A/S dealer that, even though his dealership would work on the unit we would be in line behind "his" customers. Not sure what to make of this.
The LS option is listed at 1,900 in the book, but he did give me the direct # to A/S to check on other options. Will let you know when I find out what is available.
