Thumbs up What is my Ambassador!?!

I have what I think is a 1968 Ambassador International trim.
The top numbers are "J 140 F7"
The bottom numbers are "1 288 J 538"
Could someone tell me what all ofthe numbers mean?
Also - The info I have gotten off the web says that the Vista Vue windows were introduced in the seventies however this unit has them.
I am in dire need of window clips - Ichecked the web and found some for 9.50 EACH - Help!!!

Sorry, I hit the post button too soon.

It looks like you have an International, 28', 1968, Jackson Center, Double bed, 38th trailer built.

Vista views were on the late 60's trailers.
Your S/N looks a little wierd, but it looks like Dennis got it. The only part I am not sure about is the "38th trailer"

I feel your pain on the clips, at least your windows have the metal trim that the clips fit over, the 66/67 do not have the trim so the clips have to be bent to fit the older ones.

BTW welcome to the world of vintage Airstreams. Also the CCC!

I have a '63 ambassador and I am making curtains for it- if I have any left over, perhaps I can send them to you... some of my clips are broken, but they seem to work OK if they are sewn into the curtains.

Some '68 Ambassadors had vista views, although not the oval type. See;

http://www.vintageairstream.com/arch...dor/index.html

The '68 Ambassador International I'm parting out did not have those windows. (see my ad in the classifieds).

Inlandrv.com currently has window clips for $7.25 each.
I have the window cranks, latches and such, but if you think $9.50 each is high for new clips, you probably won't be interested in what I have.
Thanks.
