With a heavy, heavy heart, I must sell my beloved Silver Olive.

Gosh Laura I would not do it unless I had to. If at all possible, you could put some stuff in it and take it with. Virginia is a beautiful state and you will begin to appreciate it once the newness of the job wears off. I know it is your decision but it could be really nice to have even as a temporary apartment if need be. When I read your post it sounded like you were not happy about selling so I would take it about 400 miles a day. Hey anyone know of any camping spots outside of DC for Laura?!?!?
oh, just saw the message with the clapping smilies. Great to hear the news!!

Love this thread. Like a Lassie movie. Drama with the happy ending.

Have been silently watching this thread. Knew all along you would not sell. Now come back to the Canopener in January.

Headed East
The Silver Olive has left the mountain. What a bittersweet departure. I felt she was in good hands with the gentleman hired to tow her to DC. The winds were gusting to about 45-50 mph as he took her down the road - thankfully they are not so strong on the valley floor, nor in the eastward direction. Hope to be reunited with her in a couple weeks.

She'll be fine and some day you're going to look back and think that you made absolutely the right decision! The fact you said gentleman and not guy speaks volumes... Best of luck in your new circumstances!

Sighted a Silver Olive
I think I saw your trailer this morning at the Frederick Walmart. Saw it as I was driving by on the road. They always catch my eye so I slowed down for a drive-by and noticed the "Silver Olive" design by the door. I was curious so I searched the forum and found this thread. Beautiful looking trailer!

That's cool!! That was her. She finally completed her long trek across the country and is nicely stored in Edgewater MD now. She's caked with road debris and a little messy inside but intact. Need to get out for a weekend trip soon!
