New neighbor

My new neighbor pulling in. This monstrosity is massive. I would need oxygen to climb in and out. Click image for larger version

I have already tried to say "hello". All I got for my courtesy was nose thrust in the air and the back of his head.

Is that the trailer with the deck that folds down electrically for tailgate parties, and the bunk beds that fold down electrically too, and automatic levellers, and the outside bar and BBQ, and the five slideouts, and the interior fireplace, and the storage compartment TV for outside watching.

I want one......but only if it's going to be as good as my 310 turbo diesel is right now after 33 years. What are the chances of that happening?

Cheers
Tony

You didn't clock him with a 2x4 did you?

You'll know what kind of campers they are when they turn the tv on outside... unless it's too hot and everyone stays inside...

Back in February we had a fiver pull into the space across from us; three axles, even longer than that one. Took him half an hour to get into the spot, another 15 minutes to get unhooked and the truck out of the driveway so others could get past.

I don't understand why people buy those things for vacations. There were 4 people. What's the point in bringing your house when camping? In the morning they left about 9 AM. That sure seems like a LOT of trouble. I wish the state parks had a size limit; no arks allowed.

Looks like the model with the direct outside entrance to the bathroom.

In 1971 we pitched our tent on a site in Denali NP. We went to pay for the site and when we got back, a giant motor home had pulled into the same site. We went back to the check-in and they refunded our money and let the motor home pay for the site. We were happy with that. So I guess it's all relative.

Think of it as some complimentary shade.

I saw one of these at the dealership the last time I was waiting to pick-up the FaN.

So, decided to climb in. Not an easy task. Getting out was worse. If you slipped or tripped going down - you are going to hurt. What I don't get - many are bought as a "retirement vehicle," but what happens when you lose some mobility and can't get into the bloomin' thing?

When I looked at the FaN (before purchase), I had a sore knee. That's the time to go RV shopping. You'll see how impossible some of those rigs are.

The knee healed, but if it ever goes again - no worries. Airstreams are so easy to access/egress.

And a lot of backpack campers think Airstreaming is also not camping but dragging a high priced air conditioned and heated apartment into once pristine areas where tents used to be a luxury....and maybe some folks that struggle financially to take their kids camping in a pop-up views Silver Bullets pulled by Mercedes and Porsche egohicles as way over the top....just saying

Point taken. However, I think the OP's issue is in regards to size, not conspicuous consumption.

Fly, correct. I could care less how someone spends their money. The thing is just massive. Big enough to house my trailer and jeep with room to spare. They use a highly modified F350 as a TV. Two pull outs on the street side with a drop down hatch in the rear.

In the Army, most of the time I would just lean against a tree. 20F or 80F, it didn't matter.

Wife and I started out backpacking with a two man tent and a one man tent for the German Shepherd. Packed everything in. Did 10-15 miles per day.

Car camping we still used the same setup. Used to laugh at the people in Trailers, thinking that's not camping.

Fast forward 10 or so years and we bought a small 17' Nomad trailer. Used to laugh at the people in Motor Homes, thinking that's not camping.

A couple years later we bought a 24' Class C. Used to laugh at the people in the 40' Diesel Pushers, thinking that's not camping.

A couple years later we bought a 24' Diesel Class C (Sprinter). Still laughed at the people in the 40' Diesel Pushers and 5th Wheels, thinking that's not camping.

Currently have a 27' Travel Trailer. Now, we just laugh (mostly at ourselves) and reminisce about the old days.

Different strokes for different folks is what makes America great.

Toyhauler. See the subforum on Woodalls. Polaris Razr or two in back. Gas tank underneath coach rear. Unreal pin weights.

I was hoping they would drop the hatch down so I could sneak a peek. After receiving the cold shoulder I did not feel like approaching them again.
