Good Job, Nick and excellent write up for those to follow in your foot steps.

hey
The only thing that comes to mind on the outside pad failure is the calioer is not able to slide. When i was with Hunter we came out with an on the car brake lathe. The setup required the operator to induce a .004 set on the cutting head. This gave the rotor a tiny amount of wobble. That was to help kick the pads away from the rotor. I don't believe our rotors have that. So the pressure on the piston side of the caliper does nt do anything to help the out board pad draw away from the rotor. Thats why its critical the caliper can move. That little clip you slid in between the calipr and the mounting is supposed to alow the caliper to kind of float in it s mount. Rusty dirty bent or a caliper thats got a marred mounting surface could cause a bind. Thus the out pad never backs off. And wears out prematurily. I suspect that's what happened to you . DJ
