Lost my wipers....

Alright, so I was driving home last night after 12 hours of welding and window gasket replacement and it started to rain, guess what...??? Wipers stopped working...of coarse it wasn't the fuse ! Appears to be two separate motors. Each motor had a green, red, and black wire. Green and red appear to be low and high speed., leaving black as the ground. I traced the wires through the firewall and they join a loom which appears to travel under the left kick panel then up the wall behind the the drivers window. The switch on the dash has grey and black wires on it of smaller gauge. My question is: does anyone know of a control center for the wipers or did I miss something ?? The wipers will work if I jump them individually with a power probe.

Check your switch.

If both motors work when you jump them and don't work normally, it has to be something open in the wiring that is common to both wipers.

So I was really tired last night after all the work, made a left turn with the wiper wiring when I should have made a right, I looked in the original owner's manual and sure enough ... There is a wiper module...found it taped on top of the steering column. The module is DEAD ! It has power, ground, intermittent control, low, and high speed, and Park. When I power all the wires individually each circuit works.....now to find a new module !

If this is it, you can have it.

My switch failed so I replaced the whole works with one of these:

Highly recommended before wasting time on parts for an obsolete system.

I'll ship it if it will help you out.

PM me your full address and phone and I'll stick it in Fed Ex tomorrow. They require a phone contact for the recipient. I get a employee discount and can send it 2nd day for about $10.
