1999 Cutter 6v Battery Hookup
My battery tray fell out on a trip to the central coast of California a few weeks ago. I picked up a couple of 12v batteries at Costco so we had power while camping. I am home now and trying to figure out how to wire new 6v batteries and have not been successful. Does anybody else have a Cutter with four 6v batteries that they can take a photo of and post it here so I can see which wires go where? I have no trouble with 12v but 6v is boiling the batteries.
This should show you the basic wiring of a 4 x 6Volt battery setup.
I have also included the basic Airstream assembly with 2 x 12volt batteries for the house.
Feed the house circuit off one positive and the inverter circuit off the other. (in the 6Volt setup)
Hope this helps
Dave

Thank you, Dave! Everybody should take this as a warning to check their battery trays. Thor/Airstream used pop rivets to hold the tray in place and obviously the rivets are not strong enough. I used a bunch of self tap screws to put it back in place. Fortunately I did not lose the tray on the freeway.
