Trailer Measurements

I was just looking through the new Airtream Website and came across specs that are interesting. On the spec sheet it shows a 27FB as being 28' in length. The same charts show a 28SE as being 27'11". That means that an Airstream 27 footer is actually longer than an Airstream 28 footer. Could this be a typo? It appears the same way on each of the model line spec sheets. If this is not a typo, why didn't they just designate the new 27FB as the 28FB? Or is there something that I am missing?

You are right the 27FB is longer than the 28'...I know it is confusing...I don't think they wanted two 28' floor plans because it might confuse folks?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

There are two 25' floor plans, and I'm not confused. I am, however, confused that a 27' Airstream is longer than a 28' Airstream.

it's time they start labeling them in cubits or ells or spans or hands...

or better yet in dollars!

I agree...we have the 25' queen...25' FB...25' SS...

why not have a 28' Queen and a 28'FB...

Not sure?

Cubits...I vote for Cubits!

And don't forget the Safari 25' is actually 25'11". We went back forth between the 25, 27 and 28 trying to decide what to buy. We really liked the 27 (even if it's really 28)—that bed is so much easier to get around and you can watch TV in it, but extra weight, too much length for the places we go and extra bucks, were all too much. The 27 is really a slightly stretched 25 FB.

Maybe they do this because these are common lengthes, or just to be quirky.

I want you to build an Airstream!
Right!...What's an Airstream?
Get some aluminum...build it 300 cubits by 80 cubits by 40 cubits
Right!...Whats a cubit?
Lets see a cubit...I used to know what a cubit was
Well don't worry about that Wally...when you get that done
Go out into the world and collect all of the pink flamingos in the world by twos male and female, and put them into the Airstream
Right!...Who is this really?

(With apologies for the hijacked thread and to 'A very funny fellow')
