Daily Notification doesn't work
I am not getting an email notification on a thread where I have chosen "Daily email notification" as the notification option. Has anyone else tried the "Daily notification" option?

Thanks for letting us know. Andy was scheduled to perform a bit of maintenance yesterday, I'll see if this was effected and/or de-bugged.

Until we get it straightened out, try the "instant notification" setting. You will only get one email per visit to the forums, that somebody posts to the thread.

Just checking in as I haven't seen any additional correspondence on this topic -- is it fixed yet?

Sorry...I did not realize this was still not working. I have made a note of in in the "honey-do" list for those that know how. I don't.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed that my "instant" notify isn't working either.

My "instant" works fine, but I don't think that my "daily" has ever worked.

For survey purposes:
In Jan. I selected "daily" for a rally thread. Never worked.
Just changed it to "instant" & will see what happens.

Thanks for the idea...I added a poll to this thread so we can officially survey this situation.
[after edit by moderation team, the following part of post no longer applies: P.S. I made a mistake in setting up the poll -- I thought I set it up to close the poll at the end of March but I just noticed it closes on Feb 27. If a mod can fix this, that would be great otherwise vote quickly as the poll will close in a few days.]

Thanks for extending the poll date. I thought this poll might be helpful for the mods to understand the extent of the notification issue.

I checked my User CP and reviewed my list of threads subscribed to. Most of my notifications are set to instant notification and then I have one set to daily and one set to weekly just to test those options. As of today, I'm still not receiving any emails.

In the 3 years I have been a member notification has never worked for me regardless of the choice (weekly, etc) I just thought it was just not operational. I've checked instant, to see if there is any diference.

Found a workaround
I discovered a workaround to the issue with not receiving instant email notifications when a thread has changed -- I use my subscribed list view. You can access your subscribed thread list via the User CP button on the top blue band at the top of any page in the forum. If any of your subscribed threads have had new activity, then the thread will appear at the top of the User CP subscribed thread section of the page in bold letters.

The poll seems to be missing a category that fits the correct notifications for me. That would be 'erratic notifications' because most of the times its working but then when I go through the main page, I'll run across a thread where I didn't get notification.

Good point. Now that you mention it, I recall that during the first two weeks of February, I started to notice a delay in receiving my instant notifies. I checked the email internet header and saw there was up to a 7-day delay between when the post changed and when the notification was sent to my email box. Shortly after that "erraticness", I stopped receiving any type of notification (including PM notifications).

It may not just be here on the forums. I just got an outbid notice fom Ebay this morning. Only problem is, the auction ended February 15th!
I have also noticed many daily emails from other groups are getting later and later. Maybe the post office is behind this conspiracy?

Yukionna ~
I just got an email notification of your 6:39am posting just above this one so seems to be working at the moment.

I lost recent karma comments
I have another squirrely item to report -- I lost my most recent five or six karma comments (all the way back to 2/24). Now that I'm using the User CP to check on my subscribed threads, I've become intimately familiar with my karma rating and comments which are listed on the same page as the subscribed threads. I just noticed tonight that the last 1/2 dozen or so of my most recent comments are missing from my karma list! I don't know what my karma rating was so I don't know if I lost points there at the same time.
