Joining the Club!!!

We just stepped from tent camping to trailering. We bought a 1972 25' Tradewind. We are from Florida and drove to Alabama to pick it up. Decided to go to the smokies for our first night.

My kids had never seen snow...well when we woke up our new pride and joy was covered with snow. What a great weekend.

If I didn't do anything else with this trailer, it was enough to see the joy in my kids eyes.

We bought this trailer (had to be an Airstream) for a 2 month trip we are taking out west this September/October to see the Alamo, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore and whatever else we find inbetween or after.

I am totally new to this and don't know a thing about trailers so I will definetly be using these forums.

So thank you in advance for any help that is supplied.

I will post some snow pictures tonight.

Thumbs up Way to go!

ssolid ... Congrats on the Airstream.

Your children a very fortunate to have you as a parent. What more could a kid ask for ... a two month vacation in an Airstream!

Now ... let's see some photos!

Keep us posted, and feel free to ask questions. This forum is a gold-mine for all things Airstream.

I'm sure there are more than just I that envy you.

Others will speak up, I'm sure, but if you haven't already, you may want to start planning the trip out now, as far as where you plan to stay and make reservations. Consider campgrounds that are located such, that you can stay a few days in one place and do day trips is different directions.

Perhaps some members that live or have visted the West can give suggestions for good clean campgrounds that are centrally located to a lot of attractions.

Again, I envy you!

Welcome! That's a great story!! Your family is in for some awesome times together. Camping with my parents are my GREATEST, most cherished memories! Enjoy making your kid's memories. (Will they ever forget that first snowy trip in the A/S?)

Thumbs up right on

Welcome to the forum and the "Family" it is.

You are very fortunate to realize that the future is today when it comes to your children and not waiting to tomorrow to go touring/camping/exploring.

May all the road be smooth before you....jem

Hope to see you on the road sometime. I hope to head west at some point this coming year. CO is someplace My folks dragged me when I was a kid and I want to drag my two (11 and 3) there as well. I also have a bucnh of online friends from a little 3 million hits per month site I help moderate www.ck5.com .

My wifes first Airstream camping was 1980 where her dad bought one. Now we are restoring that very Airstream to enjoy with our kids.

Welcome to the gang! We've been at this just over a month, and jealous that you have warm enough weather to enjoy your new family member.

Best of Luck!
