Good work
Hi Gael,
Great to to see you are getting on well, where is that really long panel from ? Are you replacing the interior panels or reusing the originals ? If you are using new make sure you keep the old ones for templates and sometimes even the rivet position and get plenty of Cleco's
Cheers
Tim

Hello !
Thank you
Yes, I keep the originals panels, they are in good condition, I don't replace these,
I had to remove the front glass in order to take out the long panel (it is the roof panel in one piece).
I have to raise a little sheet steel now (door) and replace the rear panel because I have a crack on it :

Gaël,
Good pictures. Thanks for posting them.
I found pennies in my '59 Overlander. I put them back where I found them with a note when re-installing the walls.
I wonder if it was the same person. Maybe it is their "signature".

Thank you John,
Yes, I think to make the same in frame with the US Certificate of Title because this week, I receive my french certificate of title and I made a succes to keep the old certificate of title...
So I can drive with my Airstream in France and for memory, I have the US Certificate... ! I'm very happy.
I'm impatient to restore the chassis because I'm sure that I'll find a gold ingot under the floor ! Sure sure SURE... ! I know the Airstream has only 54 years old but perhaps a gold ingot from the XIX century (west conquest) got lost...
Perhaps gold under the floor but sure rust... !

Hello,
I've found this document in the trailer, why is it written "Fac simile", it's a fake ?
Thank you,
See you soon

Gail,
I looked at the warranty in my '59 Overlander and it also says "Facsimile". Back in the late '50s and early '60s, facsimile meant copy, rather than electronic transfer. I think it was simply another copy to keep in the trailer. The original would have been considered a valuable original contract.
Here's another thread that you may find helpful or amusing.
It's good to hear from you -- how is your restoration?
John

Hello John,
Thank you for your answer, I understand now, "Fake" is quite strong word... copy seems better word as you said, so the original is... somewhere in the hand of one of the precedent owner...
Good are the photos from others Airstream ! And they are in better condition !
I think I can do a vintage touch when the restoration will be finished...
Thank you for your friendly sentence, my Airstream... humm... in the same condition than the past year at the same date...
Not enough time, many work in my job and at home.
And also, I've bought a new car, I've seen that my bank account wasn't unlimited
yes yes... be careful...
But I'm more and more excited to be finish the Overlander, ok working is very slow at the moment but not my mind.
Also, I hope that the Dollard dicrease in order to make shopping in US... it's a little too expensive at the moment, I wait again...
I hope post new photos in 2016 !

Don't lose that octagonal knob in the first picture. There are several people on this forum looking for them -- if you don't plan to reuse them.
What are your plans for type of wood? Refinish and match the original? Use the original for patterns for new wood? Design your own space?
