Yes, we were a motel, hotel, flier, also. We flew to Disney World to be with our kids a couple of years ago. That's the only plane flight & motel we've used since buying our first trailer, 11 years ago. We tried to camp at DW ,lol, but time restraints would not allow it. We have a rescued bird and he doesn't do well being boarded. He's always with us. We have camped Fl. for years. We have res. at Grayton Beach State Park in Sept. Like TX, most of Florida's camp spots have Elec. available. We use our camper just like it was a motel room, in & out. Hard to go wrong. Do your research and you'll be fine.

A 17ft trailer will fit on our property, which is important to us. Any larger and we will be in conflict with city code. 2 issues with the 16 are the bed size (46") & the bathroom, is small & no sink. We're ok with these 2 issues. I have not tried the AC during hot Tex weather, but it has a larger unit than my last trailer that was a foot longer. I would guess, as with my the other trailer, that when it gets hot the AC will freeze us out in a 16fter. I have not tried our Yamaha 2400 ishc gen with this trailer, but plan to try it in the next few days. The refrigerator that comes with the 16 is an AC/DC fridge, which is a compressor frig. Not sure if gen will run both the AC & the frig? My old RV had a AC/DC/Gas frig and I ran it on gas with the AC. Only 1 time in the last 10 years of camping have I used the gen. with the AC, we're usually in NM, CO in the summer. We camp on the TX coast, but are plugged in. My first choice with AS is the 25' flying cloud rear bedroom.
