Today I was able to buy a second 1947 liner. I have been dealing on it since last Nov. It is the 32nd one built in 1947. It has the model number 4791 and the serial number 1032. It was built at the Metropolitan Airport in Los Angeles Ca. Here are some pictures. Its pretty complete and I am very happy to be able to pick it up. The floor is bad in the rear and the rear part of the pipe frame is rusted off but I am pretty happy with the condition over all. it has a correct heater and it looks like the fixtures are all correct as well as the Airstream scripts front and rear and the LP light plus a electric light that my other 47 does not have. The door in a door works and it also has two guilds for a type of curtain / privacy divider front and rear.
It was located about 60 miles from where my number 1077 was at when I found her North of Green Bay WI. The guy I got her from had it at his family farm since 1985 as a guest house. He bought it from a local family in 85 for $50.00 and towed it 6 miles to his farm and started using it. The people he got it from had used it as a cabin in the woods for shelter when they were hunting and up cutting wood for many years before they sold it to him.
I wonder how many more are sitting around the woods of northern WI waiting to be saved?
Thats good to know. Its hard to tell sometimes what is period correct one these old trailers. I wish I had time to set up a page where we could post pictures of things like the sconces with a note telling what trailer they were on. The light on my other 47 (#1077) looks like the same ones but some may have removed the curved pastic leaving basiscly just the fixture and base but adding a lamp shade. Maybe it was an option or someone just changed it.
Great find, Sprouty! I really like the winged marker light bezels. You are lucky to find the original plastic lights still in each end of the trailer; they usually were damaged or lost over the decades. Enjoy this early Liner.

I came across this 1947 marker light information today and thought it was a great find. I have the winged lights on number 1032 but number 1077 which I just sold has the M-416 lights. Its nice to know they can both be correct.
