Warmer LED light bulbs for 23FB?
One thing that has always bothered me about our 23FB (probably true for other models as well) is how blue the LED lights are—especially at night.
Is it possible to change these to warmer LED bulbs? I checked the manual but couldn't find info on replacement bulbs.
Thanks.

Thanks. Do you know the specific model # or type of bulb? Any trick to removing the fixture and replacing them? Our trailer isn't at home right now so I can't check.

We get all our AS LED's here.
Changed all our fluorescent and puck lights to warm LEDs.

Adjustable 12” LEDs
We recently swapped the 12” T-5 florescent bulbs in our 1999 31’ Excella Classic for LEDs. I found them at Lowe’s and they’re adjustable, as in they have three light settings: Warm white, Day light, and Harsh blue! We opted for warm white. What an upgrade! It came at quite the price, however. The bulbs cost about $13 apiece, and we needed 16 of them for the coach.

Hi
I think you may find that the light fixtures in you AS are "all in one" units. The LED's are part of the fixture rather than being separate replaceable bulbs. In order to go to something different, you buy new fixtures and replace the whole thing.
Hint: It would be easier to guess this stuff it you would go to the UserCP and add in the details about your AS.

warmer LEDs
The solution that we found the best, easiest and least expensive was to purchase material that we add to the lens of each. Commonly known as theater or color gel. There are posts on the forum that you can search on that will give you more details on where to purchase and what color to use to give you a warm light.
We've been really happy with the solution.

Here you go. Cut a circle and place inside the glass for recessed ceiling lights. You can wrap and tape a piece around the plug in type lights—the cool LED will not discolor or burn the film. Works great. “Light bastard amber” color.

In the evenings, I dim the overhead lights all the way down and turn on the under cabinet lights, vent a hood, light over the table, etc. Another option.

Regardless of which hardware you use, if you want to have a warm look, stick with the 2700K to 3000K color temperature range. Color temperature s over 3000K start looking bluer, high tech, and temperatures over 3500K become whiter.
I hope this helps.

Hi
Indeed a lot of 3000K lights look blue to many folks. 2700 and below is a good target for "warm".
As you put filters on a 3500K light to get it to 2500, you are blocking a lot of the light the lamp produces. That may or may not be an issue depending on how you camp.

I've used the gels in photography a lot in the past, and from experience they do reduce output quite bit.
I chose replacing the bulbs.

I'm not clear how to install gels OR replace bulbs with the particular lights I have. The video I linked to above showed using a utility knife or other thin object to pry open a seam to remove the lens assembly of the knife. My lights don't seem to have that—or at least it wasn't obvious to me.
Also, I tried pulling out the entire light assembly—which, in my 23FB, is recessed and not protruding like in his video—but I could not figure out how to do that.
Can anyone that is familiar with the 23FB advise?

Isn't there a small gap underneath the edge of the metal ring that surrounds the lens in that light? Did you try getting a thin blade into that gap?

I tried that, but it didn't seem to want to come loose, and I didn't want to force it without knowing that I was doing it correctly.
The trailer is in storage now, but I'm hoping to drive down there this weekend after I am more clear on what I need to do.

Hi
Best guess is that your lights have built in LED's. You can't pull the lens or replace a bulb. Your replace the entire assembly as a unit.
Airstream uses a wide range of parts. They use different parts in different models in the same year. Sometimes they use different parts in the same model in one year. They also change parts year to year.
Hint: One reason folks go to the trouble of entering their trailer data via the UserCP tab is so that advice can better be focused to their trailer .... hint ... even with the info back in the thread, a lot of folks don't track back to find it.
On top of that folks love to modify these RV's. What was on the trailer or van when it was new may well not be what's on it a year later. The result is a trailer that may well be unique.
The only answer to some of this is to spend time on the internet. Find the actual device that is in your trailer and go from there....

I've got the trailer in my driveway right now. I tried again to pry open the ring around the light with a box cutter, as demonstrated in the video, and it just doesn't work. I think I have different lights. I can easily pull the entire light assembly out of the ceiling, as I indicated in the picture I posted earlier in the thread, but the assembly is attached to something and it's not clear how I can pull it completely out without damaging it.
I'm at a loss for what to do next.
