I recently installed a similar rack on my trailer tongue, and I agree with Ted S.---the rack does shift in travel and ends up hitting/damaging the trailer. I would proceed with wariness.

Just bought a new 27FB serenity with the front access hatch which will not be able to open with the Arvika Bike Rack mounted on front A frame. So if you want a good deal on this bike rack, click here Arvika Bike Rack for Airstream

Those of you who have had contact between the trailer and the bikes....are you certain you have the AS specific post part numbers? That is, the rack with enough offset in the rear post to account for the forward lean for the front of the AS? I can't see how my bikes could ever possibly contact the trailer. Also, as far as the contact with a tailgate...just raise the bike platform higher with the 3 support posts. Mine clears and I still have plenty of height adjustment left, if I need it.

I was wondering why you were selling! Now I get it...same reason why I would not consider the rear AS rack. I use the rear compartment too much to mess with that aggravation.

I have been exploring the Fiamma and an over the propane tank option. I am now leaning on putting permanent mount Yakima towers and cross bars over the truck cab. I already have most of the bike rack parts I need. All I need additionally are the towers which mount in the grooves of the roof.

Hi - yet another biker wanting to solve this issue once and for all. We have a couple of mountain bikes, one fattie [heavy] and am willing to deal with the hassle/awkwardness of load and unloading them but two questions remain:

Clearance between bikes and tow vehicle when maneuvering [tight backing especially]. TV is a Grand Cherokee so no over the bed clearance like you might get with a pickup

Front window/bug guard clearence………..in the pictures it looks like it doesn’t clear, can that be?

Any possibilities of example pictures would be awesome! Thank you in advance

Arvika Bike Rack

Homade based on the Fiama design but a whole lot sturdier. Going on three years with this installed. Over 20000 miles traveled.
These bikes weigh in at about 76lbs for both.

thanks for that and while I appreciate what you built there, I am referring to how the Arvika A frame mount model works.
