Is there a way to find the history of my trailer?

I was just wondering if there is some way to find out the history of my trailer. Ownership, location, etc. Kind of like when you do a Carfax, you can find out how many owners and such, plus area of purchase.

I do know from my manual that came with my trailer, that it was originally purchased by a gentleman in Lubbock Texas from Abbot Trailer Sales, also of Lubbock. From there, the trail grows cold.

The people I bought it from had just purchased it a few months earlier. I never even met them, as the husband died a month or so after they purchased it, and a friend of theirs handled the sale to me. So... I have no idea how many owners or such.

I know it has been to Utah and Texas, as they have letters glued on the sides.

Anyways... just curious. It would be fun to find out. I suppose I could write the guy whose name is in my manual. Geez, I wonder if he is on here?

Anyone on here from Lubbock with the first name Jerry, and owned a new 72 Overlander... in 1972?

If your trailer was owned by a WBCCI member and you know their membership number, you may be able to track down an old directory and find out who they were...but that's assuming they haven't relocated since the date of their ownership.

Don't you wonder about all the stories our trailers could tell?

Good Luck!

Thanks. That is a good idea.

Yes, I would love to know all the places my trailer has been... and I haven't! I'm sure it is much better travelled than I am.

It does have numbers on it.

I've seen a few trailers, Airstreams and otherwise, that have various states emblazoned on the side. Not the US map like you get at CW but actual letters and somewhat proffesional looking. I think snowbirds, winter Texans more specifically, do that to strike up aquaintances in the various parks they winter in. I just passed a mid eighties Airstream on my last trip to NW Arkansas that had Iowa stuck on the side of it, right in the middle blue band.

Chas,
That seems to have been real popular about 20-30 years ago. I have seen a few of those over the years. When we were younger and travelling that was one of the big bonus items for the car games we played, spotting an Airstream with the state name on the side. I saw a Utah the other day up in Virginia, when we were out in Oklahoma earlier this year I saw a monster tri axle that has New York on it. Maybe we ought to revive the traditions

different example

here is a pic of the seal of ohio placed on the front corner on a 60's tradewind.

a little different than the letters in the blue band.
