That awful refrigerator fan on the 25 rear bed. So loud! I would re-engineer to have the rear bed layout as is, but no microwave (yes to oven) , and the top vent fridge without the noisy fan, like the front bed 25s have.

Hi, the older 25' rear bed models such as mine have a roof vent for the refrigerator. So you really mean they need to reverse-engineer the newer models.

Also mine came with a stove top, oven, and a micro-wave. [not either/or]

My vote would go to dual pane windows. Our Arctic Fox has them (our Keystone Cougar did not) and it makes a big difference in the winter.

If You Could . . . .

I can think of so very few things that I would change about my '64 Overlander. It fits about everything that I ever wanted in an RV, but if I could have one feature that it doesn't have, it would be the special order jalousie windows in the bedroom area. An acquaintance who special ordered her '64 Sovereign of the Road had jalousie windows installed in the bedroom area and I always admired that feature particularly in the days before we had 30-AMP electrical service at WBCCI International Rallys.

Furnace and radio. Once it gets into the 40's, 12,000 BTU's don't cut it. Radio won't allow the TV sound to be piped to the house speakers and the TV's volume is too low. Other than that, love it

The one and only thing I don't like in our FC is the bench in the shower that makes room for the wheel well. If the shower and wardrobe could somehow be exchanged so that the shower had no bench...it'd be perfect. I'm sure there's reasons why it isn't done but...to the untrained eye, its like why not.

Fire the QC manager

My NEW 28' slideout AS had so many serious defects and problems it was hard to believe. Ironically the slideout (now discontinued) never gave me a minutes worth of trouble.

AS has serious quality control issues.... This must be corrected NOW.

Make the seating area foam in the 26U MUCH firmer.

Make the curtains wide enough to close without pulling tight.
They'd look much better if they were 40% wider and had some pleats.

Extend the Curtain Rails

Extend the curtain rails beyond the wrap-around windows to allow the curtains to clear the windows when pulled open.

We had our Airstream dealer replace the rails and now the curtains can be pulled fully celar of the windows. Greatly increased the "Panorama" view.

Built-in 1000 watt electric heater (won't overload a 15-amp circuit) that's on a thermostat for indoor freeze control through the cold times.

Removeable / moveable snack table instead of the folding dining table. Make the top out of a material that at least resembles the counters.

For folks who need the flexibility of a bed in the dinette: the same drawer arrangement that pulls from the one bench and makes it a flat surface for a bed.

A BIG one: Change the shower bench to ADA-compliant. I tried sitting on it and had to have help getting up.

Until I saw the “arctic package” idea I was going to say “come up with something better than the gooey stuff they used to semi-affix the screens to the pop-out side window openings in our 2018 BaseCamp.” But an arctic package would be awesome! I’m starting to wonder if we should’ve built ourselves a well-insulated tiny house on wheels instead of getting the AS! Summers are a bit short in these parts (mountain west). Thank you for asking. :-)

Lots if interesting ideas here. I really like the antigravity pods.

The main reason for starting this thread was to have a bit of fun, but the ulterior motive was to get some ideas of what we might want to do to our Airstream when we get it. Several ideas look like things that we may want to follow up.

Keep the ideas coming, both realistic and humorous.

I think "shower bench" is optimistic marketing.
It's a cover for the wheel well, the tires are under that molding.
I use mine (which is actually in a good place) to set soap and shampoo out of the way.

I have an oven AND a microwave.
Admittedly, the microwave is small and on a pull out drawer, but it works just fine. If you order the convection microwave then it's larger and the oven is sacrificed.
