16" wheel upgrade

I just pulled the trigger on some larger rims and tires to help level the ride on my '76 Sovereign. Another major reason for the switch was because I was sick of replacing increasingly expensive vintage hubcaps once or twice a year.
Only problem is finding nicer looking chrome lug bolts, they seem to be nonexistent in 1/2" thread pitch.
Here's a couple before and after shots to show the change in ride height. Hopefully much less dragging the rear end everywhere I go.Click image for larger version

Both pictures look low to me. 15" to 16" only buys you 1/2". Does your trailer have springs or torsion axles? Whichever you have might need to be changed. Here's a picture of my Classic 30 after I changed the axles.

That helped, but I still drug the rear end on some gas station ramps. So I put on the lift kit. Here's what it looks like now.

The lift kit probably only works with torsion axles. If you have springs there are probably similar options. I had to modify the Dexter lift kit slightly to make it work with my trailer which was originally fitted with Henschen axles.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that my main goal was a more level ride. I knew I could just get a lower hitch, but I wanted to go with new rims anyway.
Driving with it not level was wearing the tires unevenly, and was not the optimal towing setup.

Towing with the front end high is gonna do more than just wear the tires.

Are those Sendel T03's? Why did you pick that particular wheel?

I went with the Sendel T03s as well. I picked them because that is the wheel you get from Airstream if you go with the 16" option. I also believe that they are stock on the Eddie Bauer and newer Classics.
